I’m doing chores. I’m feeling unmotivated. What chore is your biggest bore, the one you detest doing? Mine is ironing. Ugh. The heat, the faff, the creases, just ugh.
Also, any tips to motivate me? |

I find ironing and vacuuming quite relaxing. Washing the widows is my worst chore. My windows are 6' tall and the base of some of them is 6'above floor level, making the tops of the windows 12' from floor level.
I only have to do the inside, though. Window cleaner does the outside! |

"The greatest hits of Thin Lizzy is bizarrely good ironing music.
Do you want to come and do my ironing, I’ll get the music up on Spotify...? "
That's the motivation to do MY ironing. I'll need far more to do yours as well.
And I'm not doing sheets or underwear. |

"Get a man to do it for you.
I'm sure you could persuade him.
Well, a very kind man did offer to come and help but I stupidly said no. Regretting that!
(Smacks lady on arse for being silly) "
Now spanking could motivate me. |

Not even if I offer to *use* the sheets and underwear after? |

That would imply that I'd have to make the bed as well! |

Loud music, a brew break at regular intervals and knowing your house will be lovely and clean when you're done. |

I don't call them chores. That word, in itself, has negative connotations and is to be avoided.
I do cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping...
I usually tell myself that if I don't do them we will starve, or walk around in smelly clothing.
People will judge me for not removing the piles of dust (I have a very dusty house), or not cleaning my windows.
When I feel enough shame I tackle the worse of the issues.
Some days I sit and drink tea and don't give a shit.
At this time of year I will put Christmas music on and do little stints at a time.
Back when I was fit and healthy I would plough through the cleaning, laundry and gardening and feel great when it was all neat and tidy, and spick and span.

I hate ironing too. The only way I can remotely bear it is to have radio 4 playing with a play or book being read. It gives my mind something to concentrate on while my body carries out the loathsome task |

You’re right semantics are important. It’s all about framing it correctly. Thank you x |
