1. I'll do parkrun with my partner and then she'll go off to see her family and I'll spend the day alone. This is very much by choose, I've volunteered in the past but these days quite happily have a lazy day. Work on boxing day
2. Probably fall asleep on the sofa far too early |

Xmas= family time... I am seeing my two elder boys for this year for the first time in 4.
New Year I normally volunteer to work... I'm not a big drinker and would rather let one of my colleagues have the night off if they want to go out |

Christmas Eve and morning with the daughter, then visiting family in the afternoon. It's always a lot of fun, laughs, food and drink!!!
(Don't celebrate New year as my brother died on Hogmanay.) |

Christmas eve and boxing day with extended family (including the cousin's husband who tried to pick me up online - awkward).
Christmas day with my mum for Christmas dinner but otherwise alone.
New year in joyous solitude, probably walk along the prom to watch the fireworks over Liverpool but then home and to bed. |

This year for Christmas I’ll be on my own, lad at his fathers.
NYE never been a huge fan and spend that at home. It’s a time of reflection and remembering those gone for me, so normally gets tearful |

"1) how do you spend Xmas with family or friends or alone?
2) how do you spend new year with family or friends or alone?
"
1) & 2) Both xmas and new year have always been with family. I spend all other times with friends but these 2 days are always family times. |

Family. But i struggle because i particularly miss my grandparents at Christmas and my step-dad, who passed away a few years ago. It’s gone from large (ish) rowdy, busy Christmas’s, to quiet ones with just myself, my mum and my children, and although they are excited, loud and fun, it still doesn’t feel the same to me.

Alone to both.
No family left and no special someone.
This will be my 3rd year alone.
I'm totally fine with it,that's life.
I'm sure I'm not the only one. |

Christmas will be in the sun escaping with my two youngest and many tearful face time calls to my eldest (although I hope he will be too busy having fun with his friends)
I'll be at home with all 3 of my boys in time for the bells

Festive Season has always been a disjointed time for me.
I've worked in Hotels for decades, so usually, I'd be working throughout. But my current job hotel closes down for 3-4 days over Xmas, but as I "live - in", I act as caretaker and cover required Fire & Security aspects. I still have access to Kitchens and Bar, so it isn't bad!
My brother and his family will be in France at their old converted Farmhouse; Xmas is always strained, to put it mildly, so best avoided! |

Last year we had 'pigs in blankets' or as you might call them ....'relatives in the spare room'.
We have cancelled Xmas (having people over) this year.
No presents to/from adults..just the grand children.
Will they listen ?
No!
They all want to "pop in" on the 'Big Day' and Boxing day.
Next year we are going camping in some remote fucking wood.

"Usually it’s always family and friends for both. This year is going to be very challenging as I’ll be alone for both."
It's always hard at xmas being alone, that's why I've summoned by the motherly one for xmas because last time I was on my own let's just say it didn't end well, you can always pester me if you get lonely |
