The nights are drawing in. The winter solstice is approaching. Do you like this time of year? I always find January rather raw. A long, cold climb out of the dark.

I always look forward to the winter solstice (22nd Dec) - once that's done it feels like we're on the way up rather than down.

I love this time of the year... cold crisp mornings... no need to get up super early before a hill run to see spectacular sun rises... then come inside and warm up with... well, at the moment it's just coffee but...

I often still have geraniums flowering in my garden in December. Proper winter doesn't seem to start until January these days.
