I expect many people have heard her name over the last few days - even if they had no wish to!
what do you think?
Personally i feel she is a little deluded in her opinion of her own attractiveness, and needs to look a little closer to home as to why other women may not like her. |

Samantha Brick published her controversial article Why women hate me for being beautiful.
Amid a growing public backlash the journalist appeared on the ITV This Morning sofa to give her side of the story, still adamant "women do not like attractive women.
Well if that makes her happy ... and feeds her ego and she can live with it fine . She is the one who has to cope with the backlash not me .

well she has managed to get herself known so will be able to go on some celebrity show at some point now i'm hoping for i'm a celebrity as i'm sure she won't look so beautiful  after a week in the jungle

ok, women may not like her because she is actually arrogant rather than gorgeous, but, in general, in 'vanilla street' as it were, women DO see good looking women as a threat, although again, good looking women may well be exerting an element of arrogance about themselves so it may just be a side issue.

i guess everyone has the ability to feel threatened by someone whether it be by their looks or their manner or their ability but to make such sweeping generalisations as this woman did was just foolish as she left herself wide open to ridicule

She also made claims that when she walks into bars men flock to buy her drinks and she has been bought gifts by men that find her attractive maybe its this behaviour that makes other women not like her very much shallowness is not an attractive trait nor is being deluded |

I listened to Samantha Brick with great interest - being incredibly attractive has blighted my life, bitchy women and have never been approached by men because they feel I would be out of their league.
I also suffer low self-esteem and lack confidence because of a terrible childhood also blighted believe it or not by a jealous mother and as I grew up a jealous sister.
But there is no way on this earth I would do what Samantha has done because she will only be interpreted as arrogant.

see i just don't understand that at all i'm afraid i have a couple of friends that can only ever be described as beautiful and i mean seriously gorgeous and yet they get approached by guys all the time and have many many girlfriends they are very popular in our social circle but its because they do not assume their beauty they exhibit humility so their beauty shines through from the inside out |

I think she may not be liked for other reasons but people who think they are perfect and right in everything they do look for an excuse of why people don't like them....maybe she is one of these people. Maybe it would be better just accepting that some people just don't like you.

Blokes do not approach beautiful women as a rule, and yes women on the whole find other more attractive women a threat and can be incredibly jealous. The secret is on the inside - I have a lot of girlfriends because I am not arrogant by any stretch, love to laugh and am a great listener. |

i have to agree, i have a good frind who is an ex model,now almost 40 she is still stunning, and has been approached by dove several times for their real beauty campaign.She is lovely and exceptionally popular, all the mums at school like her and she is never left out of anything...

I still don't agree sorry, I have a client that claims she doesn't get approached by guys because they are intimidated by her beauty yet I doubt anyone would describe her as anything more than average, she has quite striking eyes but that's about it yet like I said my 2 friends that really do radiate beauty are literally having to beat them off with a stick, I have been in Tesco with one of them before and a guy approached her and asked for a date, yet she genuinely cannot see how stunning she is
One of them has a trick to put guys off, she will push her stomach right out and pat it saying sorry I'm pregnant its funny watching her try to keep it pushed out till he goes away lol
I firmly believe its the fact that they don't presume their beauty that makes them so attractive |

I didnt read the article but googled it after hearing about the 'This Morning' interview on the radio.
I was expecting the woman to look like Angelina Jolie or Cindy Crawford! Not a very plain looking woman.
To be honest I think she is a fantasist and also quite probably a sandwich short of a picnic!
I love looking at really beautiful men and women, and certainly dont feel threatened or jealous of them!!
I agree with the other forumites above..people hating her is probably more to do with her awful personality!!
Conceitedness is not a nice character trait!

I used to have a best mate when i was in my late teens/early twenties (i then moved away)who was very beautiful, she looked like a china doll. She only got approached when out on the piss by equally pissed guys. She reckoned she hardly got chatted up when socializing otherwise!

I think its a little like the people who get turned down on here, they spout off about " its your loss blah blah blah", rather than accept they were just not appealing to the person they contacted.
If other people in general are not nice to you, or do not find you approcachable, it is easier and saves more face to claim they were intimidated by you or jealous of you, rather than admit that its probably you who is causing it in some way.
this is not aimed at anyone in paticular and is some a general observation. |

I had to smile after reading it and pondered if she was stupid and deluded like some on here I could mention or was she cleaver and got some publicity. Looking at what she said and how it was portrait I think it was cleverly done in the first place and she may have just improved her career possibilities in the media. |

I have witnessed this behaviour with women I've worked with. One insisted that ALL men got a hard-on when she walked into a room. Another said that she was considered a milf by all the blokes in our IT department. I just used to smile to myself. I have a sister with a similar attitude. |

I LOVE beautiful women. I have a real appreciation for what looks good, as well as admiration, to the point where sometimes I stare
But I cannot stand women who are convinced they are beautiful whether they are or not. There was somebody like this on Come Dine With Me who was the most arrogant, horrid woman. She was good for her age but was delusioned to the point of thinking that she looked half her age and was fantastic. She even gave the other contestants a signed photograph of herself!
Samantha is all that is wrong with women. I have gorgeous friends, one in particular is breathtaking but she is so sarky and dry witted that other gals find her hilarious and fun to be around. She does not know her looks at all which is why she is so nice. Some women need a reality check! |

As a nation we are very bitchy and like nothing better than a two faced approach to even people we think we are quite close to.
There is an element of truth in what she says and it applies in all walks of life. If you appear to be trying to be better than what is around you and you make no secret of it then your peers will very much feel like bringing you down a peg or two.
Envy is a negative motivator and a big part of the British psyche - just look how we publically big people up and then the media can just as quickly assassinate their character. Think of the woman that "over dresses" for work and gets bitched about, that top salesman who makes everyone else look poor - they get bitched about and the fodder refer to them as being "up their own arse."
Point is she has brought out a very negative aspect of our collective personality and we don't like it. |

Oh come now... there are plenty of drop dead gorgeous women in this world who would put her so far in the shade, she’d look like an emo in a month. Yet these women are not openly bitched about by the female masses, in fact many are admired and spoke of in positive terms……. may be because they are actually nice people who don't know what their own colon looks like.

I don't mind bitching about her. She's a fairly average looking fruitcake. I've got nothing to be jealous of. |

From experience this is not completely true, I would say there have been more negative than positive things happen in my life, but saying that I would much rather be very attractive and look years younger than I do - I can generally rise above the negative stuff. And Samantha Brick was right to a degree although I wouldn't say EVERY woman is jealous of other better looking women but there are definitely a lot out there. |

I think its up to her ... its her life and if thats all she got to think about her looks ... bit sad really .. yes you have to learn to love yourself maybe for who you are as a person inside ... so you can love others but to me inside more then out , |

"I didnt read the article but googled it after hearing about the 'This Morning' interview on the radio.
I was expecting the woman to look like Angelina Jolie or Cindy Crawford! Not a very plain looking woman.
To be honest I think she is a fantasist and also quite probably a sandwich short of a picnic!
I love looking at really beautiful men and women, and certainly dont feel threatened or jealous of them!!
I agree with the other forumites above..people hating her is probably more to do with her awful personality!!
Conceitedness is not a nice character trait!
