Life long fan. Partially due to it is my childhood finally brought to life. As a kid it was not "cool" and viewed as the outsider to like superheroes.

With that said there is a lot more heart and humanity in the story of them than people give them credit for.

I pretty much think they suck, with the exception of Deadpool. I can't help thinking every Marvel film is the same - hero ends up fighting their mentor or their mentor gets killed leading the hero to fight a villian who somehow has managed to obtain pretty much the same powers.

Still, they've made a boat load of wonga so they're doing something right.

Raised on the comics so I love them.

As for D.C. only a couple of movies stood out, Aquaman and Wonder woman.

Brightburn which is based in the D.C. dark universe was excellent.

"Brightburn which is based in the D.C. dark universe was excellent."

It's not based on a comic, DC or otherwise. It was an original script by Brian and Mark Gunn. It does share some themes with the Superman story, but isn't actually related.

Its actually a really weird scenario because for all intents and purposes it is the twisted reimagined version of superman's origins, its just not superman. Somehow they got away with it, without WB hunting them down.

Gunn has even said its similarities are blatant and intentional.

Would much prefer some 2000AD based movie's

And definitely a follow up to Dredd.

As for marvel films.

Don't mind the Thor films and guardians.

Although I am waiting patiently for a stand alone silver surfer movie.

Never read the comics but I enjoy the films, especially the offbeat ones like Deadpool and Guardians, which I actually avoided for a long time.

THIS. I'm looking forward to Duncan Jones' Rogue Trooper movie and the long-gestating Judge Dredd: Mega City One TV series. They really need to crack on and make Strontium Dog into a series with HBO, though...

What some people don't understand as the way with life we face our own enemies in there many forms there for we can connect 1 way or the other through the good guy face bad guys scenario. I was brought up on Disney, but soon turned to marvel and DC when I got to the time where I realised it would be cool to be someone's hero 1 day

There is the Judge Dredd's Mega City One series in pre-production with Netflix. Dredd will cameo (Karl Urban has not confirmed or denied his possible involvement). The series is aimed to be an anthology show focusing on MC1 itself.

A Rogue Trooper film in in pre-production directed and written by Duncan Jones (director of Moon and son of David Bowie). The script is pretty much done and they are at The concept art stage.

Rebellion (who own 2000AD) recently purchased an old industrial site and it is being transformed into studios, the aim is to producing animated and live action pulled from all of the Rebellion back catalogue (not exclusively 2000AD).

Check out YouTube for the fan films Judge Minty, Rogue Trooper: The Quarzt Massacre and Search and Destroy: A Strontium Dog story. Both Judge Minty and the Strontium Dog films are endorsed by Rebellion, some great production values considering they are all not for profit and made by volunteers.

I don't hate them. I'm just bored by them. There are so many. Doesn't anybody have any original ideas any more? What's wrong with telling stories about the real world?

Don't want to spoil it for other people but there were references to other dark D C. Anti heroes that could be in the sequel so there is a link to D.C.

Apparently it's loosely based on earth 3 and could lead to a dark justice League movie in the future.

Its not associated with Warner bros in anyway though, as it is Sony. So don't expect it to go anywhere.

It dangerously flirts with the line of copyright infringement. WB have probably not taken legal action due to the fact they are expecting James Gunn to make them a fair bit of money from Suicide Squad 2, since he produced it.

If it does well maybe WB will bring it on board.

We can only hope
