A guy I knew who was in the army said that when he was on manoeuvres in the Arctic or somewhere cold like that they were told if they got stranded without heat to sleep with their feet in each others crotch or armpits. |

Being ex Army I can confirm that this is pretty standard advice for keeping extremities warm: when I'm out surfing or road cycling in Winter I frequently tuck my hands into my OWN armpits,to briefly rewarm them. If I'm on the bike,that's usually one hand at a time... |
