I’m being nosey again.....
How often do you drink it and what is your favourite variety?
Also.....how the bloody hell can I get a red wine stain out of my cream carpet? (without spending lots of money as I’m a really cheap sod) |

Most evenings
White:
Godelo from Orense in spain.
Like a more sophisticated vinho verde or albariño. Excellent with fish or seafood (esp crab and lobster)
Red:
Chateux Musar
A lebanese red in a Bordeaux style but with a hint of the exotic.
Great with middle eastern food (tagines, etc) |

If it was still wet you should put lots of salt over it and cover it with toilet roll to soak up as much liquid as possible. When you have got lots of the liquid out you put on more toilet roll and stand on it. This helps it soak up a lot more. Keep going until you just can't get any more out.
If it's already dried in, you're stuffed. |

Thank you for the stain removal tips x
Damn though.....I wish I had asked this on here about five years ago.....
Maybe a new carpet is the best option after all.
I don’t suppose any of you can advise on where to get a ridiculously cheap carpet? |

Lakeland do a spray called wine away.its brilliant.
If I'm drinking white I like a chemin blanc from south Africa or a Chablis
Red I like a malbec, a chiante or a florri. But these days I only drink at weekends |

To be honest I can like any type of wine if it's good. I often find rose the safest option with cheap wine and tend to go for red over white unless I either know the white or trust the taste of the person providing it as a bad white wine is awful! |

Salt to remove red wine stains is a myth. You should use sparkling or soda water, the bubbles help bring the stain to the surface. Mop with a paper towel, and repeat until you're satisfied.
What wine to drink? I like white, red, sparkling, dessert ... all depends on the mood, occasion, accompanying food.
Just like I wouldn't like to have sex with one woman only, wouldn't like to drink the same wine everyday. |

Difficult to say, as someone said, depends on the context, mood or time of day.
Verdi wines are great for through the day.
Tempranillo for a glug wine. If you are getting serious, a Barolo, Chianti or even a Barrossa.
Ultimate favourite so far in life a Montrachet, not a lover of whites in general, however Montrachet is like a good woman should be. |
