Share your secrets! How do you take flattering pictures of yourself? I'm forever taking Fab pictures and deleting them because I'm sure I'm not... that big? Or my body is more defined, or whatever.
Let's make the experience less demoralising. |

"I find a lot of people use the 20 years ago method! As in took them 20 years ago "
I've seen that. The stamps on mine, I took the photo usually within a couple of hours, occasionally as much as 48 hours. |

Being serious, I have no idea how people do it. Well I have an idea but putting it into practise is tricky so I don't. Timers. Learn your body angles through trial and error? Your photos look like you. |

"Get someone else to take them or get a tripod with a remote, could pick one up for less than 20 quid
Jo x "
I use self timer and various household items in lieu of a tripod.
I should probably get a tripod |

I have no idea. I discard or don’t share 90% of what I take. I have gotten better with angles and sometimes the timer but I generally hate most pics of me. It’s hard when you’re mean to yourself. your pics are lovely though! Do more of that - Mrs |

Oh my discard rate is enormous. I want more that'll do or, that's a nice picture and less when I look at the results of a Fab photo shoot! |

Its worth getting someone who knows what they are doing to take them it really does make a difference and they can get you in better poses from behind the camera. |

I video and screenshot from that. Probably not as good quality pics but quicker and easier . The video is bloody hilarious though getting into all the different positions . That’s always quickly deleted! |

I've learnt a few tips through being involved in photoshoots with models. Sometimes cameras really don't capture the same thing your eyes do at all. It feels really alien but pushing your hips forward can make for more flattering pictures. Also pulling the sides of your knickers higher than you would normally wear them looks better in a photo. I try to keep my arms away from my body so I don't blur into one big mass so hands on hip, stomach, thumb tucked in a waistband or waist tie, holding onto something to the side of or above me. I also try not to hold myself too straight so try to form more of an s shape. I like to show off my curves though so my techniques might not work for everyone. |

Various poses work but we have found the trick is to take lots of shots from different angles. One or two will look good.
One leg in front of the other, turn slightly so you are not fully facing the camera. Take from below or above slightly will help. Heels lengthen and give shape to legs obviously, wearing items of clothing to take the eye away or cover up areas that you are conscious off all help. |

I’ve found it’s easier to look good if you’re a model.
For the rest of us it’s lots of trial and error. Before you’re too hard on yourself, it’s worth seeing how many Fabs your existing pictures have. If it’s more than 100, what you’re already doing is good |

I used to ditch any pic with a fat roll or stray lump and bump in it, but then I was a nervous wreck meeting in case they ran away at the sight! I just leave them in now, although obvs I still pose my arse off ! |
