I once visited a beef slaughter house in Holland. I was on a buying mission and the owner was so proud of the beef he insisted he cut a few slivers from the still warm carcass for us to sample, I felt I had no option but to eat it....before anyone asks if it spat or swallowed, down it went I won’t be doing that again. |

I ordered the 'local specialty' in a family-run restaurant in Normandy once, something they were very proud of. Neither myself or my wife could translate what it actually was, but it was food, in a French restaurant, how bad could it be? There was this sinking feeling in my stomach when I realised what I had ordered, although, I couldn't believe it would be true, but it was........tripe sausage!
The owners were hugely upset that I didn't eat it...... |

Did I 'ribbit' that right??
Sounds like Chinese version of "toad in the hole"
Yes you did ribbit that right. It was covered in some sort of sauce, i did'nt know it was a frog until i noticed a webbed foot. But was too late as the foot was all i had left. Its head was disgusting. "
I'm normally quite partial to a head ...but yes ...even a frog sounds like too much |

Not actually disgusting, but I once got served a live fish in a Japanese restaurant. It had been scored and was still flapping in its box. I had to give it a while before I got stuck in. |

Vegetarian haggis in batter from a chip shop. Closely followed by regular haggis. |

Eel. But maybe that was just because of the way it had been cooked. Proper had the arse boiled out of it |

I think the gastronomic evil that is celery might be winning by a small margin here..... |
