Way too many to mention, but Captain Corelli has to be up there with some of the worst.
Mess around with book endings and you will never be thanked for it Hollywood. |

Oh and for an utterly unhappy ending try the spaghetti western, The Great Silence which features an utterly hissable villain (played by the perennial looney himself, Klaus Kinkski) firstly killing the hero.....then his girlfriend.....and finally mercilessly slaughtering all the hostages he was holding.
Oh well, I suppose life isn’t always happy but really?! |

"So you're watching a film and its not bad,but the ending ruined a good film
World War Z was a terrible ending
"
Actually had a way better ending but total reshoots ruined the movie |

"Lost and yes it's a series but they took a cracking book and totally ruined it. "
Lost wasn’t based on a novel. It was inspired by a few but was an original series in its own right. I agree that the ending was a bit meh though. |

"But the best ending has to be The sixth sense "
I beg to differ, I saw it a mile off. Also Sixth Sense, I had that one spotted within 5 minutes, in fact, having heard that there was a twist I thought that here must be another one on its way. I thought Fight Club and The Usual Suspects did a far better job. |

Meet Joe Black is a perfectly decent movie until the last half an hour. If you do watch it switch the thing off after the resolution scene in Anthony Hopkins' office.
Worst ending ever and you can tell the studio added it on later because they demanded a happily ever after... |

Agreed, I'd guessed the Sixth Sense's ending before they'd even made the film it was that predictable |

I remember a documentary I watched on YouTube ... It was the story of how Turkish Barber shop owners use their shop to launder money.
Thx Google for telling me the truth |

My Neighbour Totoro
The movie stops at some random point in the story without any conclusion whatsoever. I thought I had a faulty copy when I first watched it. |

I remember reading something very similar years ago and just assumed it was adapted for TV. Turned out the people were all figments of the imagination of some guy in a mental hospital. |

War of the Worlds comes to mind. I remember watching this awesome movie, full of action and shit, human kind is getting their asses whopped and just when it seems all hope is lost, the director stands up and says, 'Right, we've spent all our budget - have the aliens fall over and die and let's call it a wrap.' |

In all fairness that was how the story ended in the book too - and it was from 1897 so I bet that was a mad ending to them. |

The remake of 'The Vanishing' I won't go into detail too much. However the original (Dutch) film has an ending that will totally shock you. The US obviously weren't having any of that and gave it a true Hollywood ending.
Please do not watch it, see the original it's a true classic |

Every single 1990s JCVD film..
Hero JCVD takes a massive beating by a much superior bad guy in the final fight sequence until....
***2 mins from end of fight, JCVD finds the strength for one last push (cue flashback sequence of smiling girls with big hair/sensei/family goldfish), remembers training montage, stands up in slow motion, artfully bloody, flexing like fuck before pulling off an improbable jumping spinning upside down helicopter kick that your granny could see coming from pension day.. bad guy was gloating with his back turned... BOOM.. repeat shot from 5 angles at slightly different speeds to make sure we all saw it.
Bad guy knocked out/killed in slow motion...
As JCVD lands dramatically shouting Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggghhhhhhh (still in slow motion flexing mode)
Cue to JCVD walking away the victor with ornamental big haired blonde.. end credits..
Those were the days |
