I’m going back on the healthy eating buzz tomorrow, I’ve been piling on the weight!
Night time will be a killer as I love grazing on shite in the evenings.
Aside from fruit/yogurt , give me some nice ideas for healthy treats.
Maybe this thread will benefit a few of us.
Thanks x |

Drinking water to make sure your cravings aren’t thirst, then distraction, paint your nails, have a bath... |

Me? Kebabs "

Not massively healthy but Fibre One 90 bars are great for a sweet fix at night. I love the chocolate brownie and popcorn chocolate ones...probably too much! |

"When you say night time, when do you mean?
Anytime from 8 on. I get peckish, Lickety."
Until when? I'm a fat bint, as you know, but I only have water after 9pm (except high days and holidays). It keeps the fat at a steady level.
Could you eat dinner later so that you're not reaching for snacks?

"What kind of eating plan are you following? Makes a difference.
I drink (water, fruit tea, sugar free squash) or chew chewing gum. "
I’m not great with following strict diets, or anything drastic.
I just cut down on the picking between meals, portion size, extra veg and be more active. It’s worked before. I’ve gone from a 14/16 - 8/10 over the last two years.
Dangerously close to creeping up to a 13 now. |

"Segments of red apple with a nut butter (now, now children) as a dip.
Almond is my favourite."
I love this too!
How about a couple of ryvita with some low fat cheese or spread ?
I like the fibre one bars or the Aldi benefit bars (better than the Alpen ones) |

"Carrot sticks, celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, fruit. Keep getting fruit and vegetables in, they tend not to be too calorie dense. "
I love fruit, but it does get a bit boring.
Plus it’s not cake. |

I eat a breakfast ie toast or cereal within an hour of getting up, can then go for about 6 hours before I have a meat & salad sandwich. Ma main meal is usually around 10 ish to around midnight (I'm a night owl), but even then I get the munchies at about 3 am and head for the digestives or something else sweet. I know I shouldn't as I've recently been classified as type 2 |

Retrain your taste buds. Learn to love fruit and veg. |

If you find yourself hungry between meals a lot, consider how much fat and protein you're getting. They're more satiating than carbs. (I'm on a high fat diet - it's drastic, I'm not recommending it for you - and I find I'm way less hungry these days) |

Maybe try working out how many calories your body needs to maintain ypur current weight then eat less than that amount. So for instance I need 2000 calories to maintain so I eat 15%/20% less so around 1800 calories a day. Yes eating 'healthy' snacks Helps BUT fruits/nuts/olives/smoothies are calorie dense so you could over eat by eating 'clean' How can you lose weight/fat if you don't know what calories your body needs? |

There was a muesli ryvita a while ago, they were really nice. |

Rowntrees watermelon ice lollies. £1.10 in Tesco.
I'm thinking about dipping into my sweet jar full of randoms, skittles, wine gums, fruit pastilles, various haribo, banana & shrimp... |

When I make our dinner I also make a snack for later which I eat about 9 ish. I always eat whenever I'm hungry that could be every two to three hrs.
I have about 200g of raspberries the same of blueberries mix with 40g of porridge with one or two muller light yogurts or the mullerlight greek yogurt. Cover the top with a little honey and leave in the fridge. Its delicious you should try it |

Eat whatever you like as long as you don't exceed your daily caloric allowance. |

Evening time I prefer pistachios or a nut mix (I make my own chilli nut mix). Or a banana.. yeah yeah before anyone starts, to eat.
I avoid a lot of fruit after about 8pm as they contain sugars.
If I am topping up protein I will often have some cheese wrapped in ham. |

Perhaps fab are just fussy about correct nomenclature - bet nori isn't censored. Bet they pronounce it 'keeeeen-waaahhh' instead of the proper 'kwin-oh-ahhh' as well. |

Fruit is made up of mainly sugars so it's not as great a late night snack as many people believe. Personally when losing fat I opt for sliced chicken/beef/pastrami as they are made up of mainly protein - no carbs so no insulin response.
Admittedly not many people can/or want to, stick to diets as strictly as I do.

I nearly posted Nori but presumed Boldy wouldn't know what that was |

I used to peel an orange after 8pm, just the one due to the sugar. However I'd peel it down until the white bits had been removed. It kept my fingers active and a sweet but healthy treat once I'd finished. However took ages to get the orange smell of my fingers |
