I know six of the celeb line up! That's more than in recent years.

I'm already routing for Micelle Visage, Anneka Rice and James Cracknell.

I'm a little excited about Motsi Mabuse judging her sister after reading she gave her a 3 on the German version. She'll be eager to show there is no nepotism and prove the critics wrong.

And yep there are a few that I went "who?" - can't say I was overly impressed to be honest, it seems to be getting weaker and weaker in terms of who they get each year

I used to feel the same but got sucked into it one year about ten years ago and can't miss it now - is so much more interesting than the other "celebrity" shows because those that participate are actually learning a new skill mostly rather than just sitting round inflating their egos for a wad of cash

I'm still baffled how they can get the pairings show to last for 90 minutes.

My biggest Strictly gripe is the time wasted on "fillers".

That and no Darcy this year.

Very much looking forward to the series getting under way, probably a bit late but I'll be applying for tickets again.

By chance my Tango term starts again this week.

Very much looking forward to the series getting under way, probably a bit late but I'll be applying for tickets again.

By chance my Tango term starts again this week.

Yes there is lots of waffling on the show. When it starts we record it so we can skip those bits "

I record it and watch it later. The FF button is very useful.

Same with the results show, FF straight to who's out.

Caught up with it earlier and have to say a few impressive dances for week one - most of which I think have been mentioned.

Did wonder if Karim might have previous dance experience as he seemed very polished.

Thought both James Cracknell and David James were very wooden and had to laugh at the way Katya cleverly used Mike Bushell's deficiencies in their jive routine

What a lot of 7s and 8s for week two!

Karim was really surprising. If he keeps improving at that rate he'll win people over. I suspect his public vote count will be low, even though he's good. Although, that scene with his mother was so endearing.

Mike needs to go. He annoys me.

James should be in the dance off but his amazing life and story will keep him for a couple of weeks. I think we'll lose one of the young women (names not fixed in my head yet) or even Lady Wotsit from Longleat (baby tigers, notwithstanding). If I'm lucky it will be Mike.

Love Motsi, she is on our fantasy dinner party list.

The overall standard this year is high. Of course there are a few that will never be fantastic dancers. I think Anika made the most improvement since last week. I feel that Mike has already become the strictly novelty act and his couch is the one that choreographes the routine, therefore she is culpable in his demise.

Agreed - had to be one of James, David or Mike - so bottom two were spot on and in the dance off David at least showed he'd listened to what the judges said.

Was also annoyed by the ridiculously long pancake scene at the start of James' routine that was obviously put in to cover up his lack of ability

The brain injury was a number of years ago and he'd been put through rigorous testing before the show to ensure he could cope though - so not sure that can be held up as an excuse - especially when you compare to say Will who has a disability and yet you'd not know it watching him dance.

Reading today that James was ranting after the show that it was the worst thing he'd ever done going on.

He has denied this and said he knew he wasn't good. I obviously don't think he was any good but then neither did he. He had trouble processing the information due to his brain injury but he knew this also

He gave it a go, someone has to be first out

Loving it up to now, although the "joke" dance of Katya is going to wear thin if they are going to go down that route.

Ola and James Jordan say they are told to do certain things like that, ie do an american smooth with stupid music and a stupid costume...then get panned by the judges

Whether that's sour grapes because they are not on the show or not I don't know, but it seemed to fit on Saturday

Yes I agree with the joke dancing thing, part of the show I suppose, they always have one don't they? Remember John Sargent, he decided to leave because he said there was a chance he would win and that wouldn't be fair
