If its a crap pic to start with, no amount of filters is going to make it look better
I usually like to mix it up but b&w generally look more arty... the less light the better |

I'm a photographer and often send out samples of my work to show people who are thinking about having a shoot, 90% comment that they prefer black 'n white images much better than colour. I prefer a mix depending on the image or message i'm trying to portray. |

I like a variety. Black and white is nice, but a profile/calalogue/portfolio full of it and nothing else is a bit drab and lifeless.
I love colour and black and white, but different photos need different moods I feel. |

"I used to never use black and white because my makeup tends to be brightly coloured, and so did my hair. So it’s just a habit I’ve gotten into "

I like both black and white and colour. I think both can work equally well. It all depends on the image and the whole mood and dynamic you're going for. Sometimes it just feels right and works better to go with black and white but sometimes colour is the better option. |

I didn’t spend shit loads on my telly to only watch it in black and white and sit there saying to myself ‘that picture looks very arty’
Colour all the way for me. The higher the picture definition the better! |

Depends on the picture itself first and foremost.
Some pictures are greatly enhanced by certain filters etc but not others. One can look amazing as black and white, while another can be ruined by the lack of colour.
Very often though, black and white can make a fairly graphic picture look somewhat classy in comparison to its colour version. |
