"What does that dichotomy mean? Isn’t one’s interactions on this site a small part of actual real life? "
Yes you're right. I use it to differentiate between fab and off fab because to me this is fantasy and off fab isn't |

This is real life if you meet. It's further real life if you play.
Some here never play never meet only read profiles or join in the forum. In that case it is part of their life experience but then it becomes part of the virtual cyber world.
Hope that helps. |

At a slight tangent I think seeing the internet as not real is what allows some people to think it's ok to be breathtakingly nasty. I don't think we should lose sight of the fact that the people in this virtual world are real |

I agree with this.
OP I just use the expression as a way to differentiate. Real life v fab life. |

They are both real life just more or less integrated parts of it. There are bits that are integrated for me but more are differentiated. I’m working on gradually integrating more, but it will always be differentiated by what I consider my public and private self in different situations.and with different people. |

Reading this thread and responses, I realised that fab life completes my real life as I only crossdress through fabs.
So as many stated above, it is integrated as part of our whole life experience.
Thank you for opening my eyes.

"A wise man once told me that whether in real life or in fantasy, we're all caught in a landslide, no escape from reality!"
Did it make you open your eyes, look up to the sky and see though? |

you and I must have thought the same thing at some point! You mentioned fantasy and this little piece of cyberspace is certainly an outlet for enacting one’s fantasies...but —to use a question in agreement to your answer—when somebody is being needlessly a nasty c**t to somebody else, whether by private abusive emails or by unfriendly behaviour in the forums , does the perpetrator think “who cares, it’s fabs, not real life”? Probably that’s how some might think x |

Very probably I'd say but sub consciously I suspect they're a crying, hurt child. I think the net allows a voice for people's demons and some of them come out shrieking and ugly. |
