Conspiracy Theories - Flat Earth, Dinosaur's and Jesus

I'm what maybe described as a conspiracy theorist as much as I hate that terminology, it's the one I use to describe myself when speaking on such topics.

So as we know Science is based on theories but not necessarily fact, law or truth. There's only a few Universal Laws such as 1+1=2.

I'm somewhat of a YouTube Scholar a have come to my conclusion that the Earth is "Flat" and neither Dinosaur's or Jesus ever existed

What are your thoughts and do you have any "Conspiracy Theories"

Why just because you believe that the earth is flat that somehow disproves Jesus or dinosaurs, plus do you mean god not Jesus?

No idea how people think the earth is flat, but I believe people think dinosaur aren't real ( I don't lol) because they are a "recent" discovery. I wouldnt think religions fall under a conspiracy theory.

Although I've mentioned these three in the same thread, they could all have their own thread respectively. I've just placed them together to start the conversation.

They are not intertwined.

I don't think the Earth is the Globe we have been told to believe it is. Their math is constantly changing etc.

I don't think dinosaurs walked the Earth millions of years ago, I think a group of privileged business men came up with the idea, and millions of pounds later we are supposed to believe in them etc.

And I definitely meant Jesus, I don't think any of the characters from the Bible exist and also believe a group of privileged men came up with the whole idea of religion as a means to control a group of people etc.

"Science is based on facts, not theories. "

Definitions of Fact, Theory and Law in Scientific Work:

Fact - In science, an observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes is accepted as "true". Truth in science, however, is never final and what is accepted as a fact today maybe modified or even discarded tomorrow.

Hypothesis - A tentative statement about the natural world leading to deductions that can be tested. If the deductions are verified, the hypothesis is provisionally corroborated. Of the deductions are incorrect, the original hypothesis is proved false and must be abandoned or modified. Hypotheses can be used to build more complex inferences and explanations.

Law - A descriptive generalisation about how some aspect of the natural world behaves under stated circumstances.

Theory - In science, a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences and tested hypotheses.

I would say Science is based on hypothesis and theory, it's only after rigorous testing that it can be confirmed as "Fact"

Absolutely, the Earth has a radius of approximately 3965 miles. Using the Pythagorean theorem, that calculates to an average curvature of 7.98 inches per mile or approximately 8 inches per mile (squared). Ie, the earth is round. All be it, with a bit of a bulge in the middle.

Look for the documentary "beyond the curve" and watch flat earthers do experiments to prove its flat, that in fact prove it isn't. But even with the evidence produced by themselves, they still won't believe. If all the evidence gives you an answer you don't like, and you choose to believe something else, you have to be ignorant at best

I'm not suggesting anyone think the way that I do or trying to convince anyone about my subjective belief's... I just thought I'd try and find a few people who may think the same or may have some of their own conspiracies worth discussing

That’s not true. There have been photographs of the whole earth from the Apollo missions.

It’s true that from the international space station you can’t get the whole earth in frame, but that’s because it’s in low orbit.

I only ask one thing of flat earthers.

Walk to the edge, look over, take a picture and let us all have a look.

Doesn't their website say they have members "all over the globe"?

I asked a flat earther how the oceans didn't just drain away when the water trickled over the edge. He said there were giant ice walls holding it all in, like a giant bund.

Then I asked him why no-one had ever seen this giant bund.

I'm not holding my breath for an answer.

He's always going on about global warming melting the ice caps. I pointed out it would also melt the ice wall holding the oceans back.

If the world is flat, show me the edge. Where's your proof?

Navigate the oceans without digital technology and create the math that makes it possible. You'll soon discover the earth is round and the moon orbits it, the stars move in a pattern that is only compatible with the math that proves the earth is round and orbits the sun.

Jesus was "invented" by Saul of Tarsus (also known as Saint Paul) based on two characters who may or may not actually have been called Jesus - one, a radical preacher, and the other an anti-Roman freedom fighter. Saul/Paul took incidents from the life of both and added a few 'miracles' from his own severely disturbed mind to make a Messiah-like character.

Interesting to speculate on what may have been. The Roman governor of Paphos had Saul/Paul flogged for spreading unrest - if he had not been such a civilised and merciful man, and had Saul/Paul executed, christianity wouldn't have taken off, and we'd probably be followers of Mithras instead.

If only....

We are definitely living in the era if "what I reckon is"

Gravity, curvature of the earth as seen from tall buildings and planes and circumnavigations of the globe, all make the flat earth conspiracy a lot less fun to chat about than some of the others.

9/11 on the other hand is far more fun to argue over....

I like conspiracy theorists. Question everything should be everyone's motto, but whatIreckonry can be dangerous.

Central

Conspiracy theories are often used by governments or those with power, to help deflect attention or hide truth amongst a load of bollocks. Otherwise, there's a huge load of BS waiting to be found via the channels the op mentions and others, often with some people eager to cash in on the readiness of others to be pulled in.

Happy to be open minded within reason, where evidence supports a theory.

The earth is not flat and man went to the moon

Correct me if I am wrong as I haven't checked my facts but didn't they turn one of the telescopes so it could take a picture. "

one of the Voyagers. was turned to take an iconic imagebof Earth.. just a dot..worth googling image..puts us in a little perspective .. makes me ponder each time I see it

So as we know Science is based on theories but not necessarily fact, law or truth. There's only a few Universal Laws such as 1+1=2.

Except when 1 + 1 = 10 if im using a binary system.....

I've long since ceased trying to reason with quite a few people.

Not that I don't like discussion and debate and edging nearer to my truth and developing my understanding , because I do.

I ceased ( on here ) for a couple of reasons.....

1. Those that have no reasoning or logic become insulting or don't want to budge from their 'safe closed mind' stance. They refute like fuck but cannot give you a reason for their refutations or beliefs. Ah .... did I say reaon ?

2. A lot of people actually LACK the ability to reason. You either can 'think' in it's true sense or you can't and I see quite a few on here who simply can't. They just don't think beyond the illogical statements they make.

3. I learned long ago that you cannot cure STUPID...... not even Canute could stem the tide of sheer Trumpshite that people educate themselves with through Youtube.

Ok I'll try bear with me as I may sound a little weird here

It's not exactly a conspiracy theory but take for example bigfoot the "scientific community" refuses to acknowledge the existence of such a creature despite the presence of hundreds of years of native lore and current more revealing evidence such as the Patterson film and countless eyewitness testimonies and photographs and video footage even DNA scientists will say without an actual body or physical evidence it will remain a creature of myth.

Then take black holes, originally theoretical they are now wildly acceptable despite there being no physical evidence of one or many existing, every picture or video you see of one via any source is an artist's impression be it cgi or other and the only evidence they do have is long range radio telescope data from deep space that they interpret as a black hole which could be actually anything yet because it fits with certain scientific theories that's a black hole.

I'm not saying they are wrong about them it's just a double standard in my opinion to accept one and shoot down another when basically the same evidence exists for both that being photographic and video,it's effects on it's environment around it and eyewitness testimony

I want to know how the Earth's terminator line between night and day works on a flat earth. You know when it starts to get dark very gradually then there is a sudden big drop off in light? You go out to the shops for 15 minutes and when you get back it's dark?

That looks consistent with a terminator line on a roughly spherical earth to me.

The flat earth issue seemed to suddenly appear out of nowhere a few years ago, just like ISIS.

I think people really do believe the earth is flat. That's one reason they hold meetings over it. Some very intelligent people have bought into it. Fair enough then. But with many, you just can't talk to them and I see the signs.

What I'm interested to know with anyone who believes flat earth, is when did you start believing it?

Where you went wrong is your misunderstanding of what a theory actually is. A theory has mountains of evidence to back it up, ie the sun rising in the east in the morning is a theory. The theory of relativity and gravity have so much evidence they would be incredibly hard to disprove. What you are calling a "theory" is actually a hypothesis, which is what a theory starts as. You are hypothesising that the earth is flat, and a hypothesis it will stay as there is not actually any evidence to suggest that it is flat. Oh and in science there are laws, theories so well established they practically are fact.

Sorry, last one honest.

I notice the crime of 9/11 is again getting mixed up with the made up stories. And while there are plenty of stories about it, there is much factual information and other evidence to be aware of.

Does anyone have anything to say about the Hurricane that was on its' way to New York in a direct beeline, and by that morning was close enough that it could be seen from Long Island, but then it abruptly turned at a more than 90deg angle and went North East instead, ending up being dissipated among opposing turbulent weather?

Hurricane Erin (the name was used more than once) was extremely under-reported and didn't appear on the weather maps on any channels when it should have.

"What has that got to do with 9/11?"

I... don't really know. But don't you think that's worth mentioning? I understand that there is so much information that we don't get told on the news and many people don't get to be made aware of. They largely just report what they're given to report and we don't see too much real investigative journalism these days. One reason is because the news is full of shit and chooses instead to focus hours on what Donald Trump said that offended someone this week.

And what about the infamous building 7 on the BBC? This didn't have to be a problem. There were other reports that day that certain buildings had 'collapsed', when they hadn't. Everyone was confused in a panic, and people wanted to be the first to report.

Many reporters didn't know what was going on and were told they're on the air in 5 and just have to say whatever. Such as the guy who when asked "Where is all the rubble?" "Why is there so little rubble?" could only respond "it fell down, in a pancake collapse, and must have been compacted in the ground". Obviously that's unscientific tosh but it's all they had. Unbelievably, a variant of this did end up in the NIST and 9/11 commission reports! No wonder Dr Judy Wood filed a court case for science fraud, only failing due to strings being pulled and opposition from the infamous Steven E Jones and his lackeys who took over the 9/11 truth movement.

The lack of rubble was never mentioned again.

The basement levels of the WTC were almost completely intact and largely empty. This is why it was not a pancake collapse as erroneously reported, neither bombs in the building, at least the basement. Also there were enough pictures of workers rappeling into 70ft holes left where the buildings had stood. There was only a tiny percentage of rubble. And it wasn't scattered around the area as lying disingenous debunkers tried to claim, such as Greg Jenkins, one of Steven E Jones' stooges. You can simply see that from pictures alone.

What did BBC reporter Jane Stanley have to say about building 7?

To paraphrase: "RRRRAAAAAARRGH! Conspiracy Theorists!!!" She raved madly, wild eyed while tearing her hair out. She might as well have done that.

And what about the BBC themselves? A lot of people got in contact that day wanting to know what gives. The BBC responded "Oh oh oh, we're not really into conspiracy theories" (Have to laugh at that LOL), to which the people said "we're not either, we just want to know why you're reporting the news before it happened."

There didn't have to be a problem. It could have easily been confusion over the day, too eager to be the first to report. Nothing sinister. But instead, the BBC then suffered technical problems (can anyone confirm this? I haven't verified it) and Jane Stanley and the BBC doth protested far too much. By doing this, they have unfortunately revealed themselves as not 100% innocent in my opinion, whereas if they were it could be simply explained without the need for technical problems and reacting madly.

Something that needs to be more widely known is that all buildings with a WTC prefix (7) were destroyed that day, not just 2, and not even just 3. An astonishing result from just 2 planes against buildings of that strength and size. What were the terrorists trying to do? Just make a mess of part of the side of a building? Was it their intention that all 7 buildings be annihilated, so much so that people could hardly find even a piece of a chair, telephone, toilet? If so, quite an incredible Rube Goldberg outcome, all only because of planes with nothing else helping.

The NIST and 9/11 reports told us that debris did the rest? What debris?

I find it intriguing that one poster above said they 'enjoy arguing'... I've noticed this for a while actually, after reading "you'll have to do better than that", and it was said again recently. It was said to me as well!

I think it was in the same post which I found a bit bizarre in which someone ranted "Alex Jones". I honestly thought he meant the female TV presenter and was confused, before realising he was talking about the fake CIA plant who I have no affiliation with, and never will. I see right through his craic, which isn't too hard. What a bellend. He will be back at some point unfortunately.

It was when I simply pointed out that the work of scientist Dr Judy Wood should be of great interest. "Is she the one who faked those pictures??" was the reply.

No she isn't.

I come to share information, put it on the table for people for your consideration. Because you might be interested just to know. Then you can make of it what you will.

I've had flaky people trying to force things down me "the extinction of the entire human race" while waving their arms hysterically, if I myself don't do something! I see the same signs in a lot of flat earthers, some naivety without enough maturity to properly assess things.

It may sound silly, but I learned a great deal from Master Splinter from the 2003 Ninja Turtles. While the Turtles take things at face value and rush in, the wise rat remains and considers. He will go "Hmmmm. All is not as it seems, my sons". And he's right. This approach has served me well (at least far better than in the past where I might have got lost on the internet, and who knows, even ended up falling for Alex Jones! :o ) The ability to be wrong and learn has also been invaluable.

I am not like the world of news and popular media who tell you what you HAVE to think (even if they don't say it, it's a set in stone unwritten, unspoken rule) Too many people don't seem to get Big Brother is already here in it's early stages, because it's so gradual.

When information is controlled and censored, and everyone surveilled like in China, it's bad. But when it's us, it's good! And for our own protection from those horrible muslim terrorists, or whatever enemy is in the news this time!

I hope this has been useful in some way and made some things clearer. If it's raised further questions, good, cos I like to add. Meanwhile, I'm going to the beach now to chill out and hopefully have a swim!

"Jesus was "invented" by Saul of Tarsus (also known as Saint Paul) based on two characters who may or may not actually have been called Jesus - one, a radical preacher, and the other an anti-Roman freedom fighter.

If only.... "

No evidence of black holes?

In cosmology there are cases where orbits suggest the presence of a very massive object which we would typically expect to be a star, yet we can’t see one, therefore a black hole is an obvious candidate.

Also, it was big news in the sciencetific community a couple of months ago that the first image of a black hole had been generated.

I wouldn’t call that lack of evidence.

Regarding big foot, fair enough people have “seen” something, but people think they see a lot of things and can be mistaken. There could well be a big foot, but if it can’t be caught and there is no disersble evidencec of its presence otherwise then the null hypothesis that there isn’t one comes out on top.

On a similar note, alien sightings and UFO’s were a big thing a few years back, but notice how this settled down after personal cameras got better and more so after camera phones became a thing. Seeing isn’t always believing, much like big foot and “I can’t see the curve so it must be flat”

Give us an example....

Seeing isn’t always believing, much like big foot and “I can’t see the curve so it must be flat”"

I don't know how they can say black holes are not real. They have been prove beyond doubt. The effects can be seen in multiple locations.

Ufo sightings always go up when a new sci fi is released.

Oh gosh - I'm definitely a conspiracy theorist!

Jesus was but a philosopher that harnessed the vast power of the human mind.

We live in a universe full of alternate dimensions and protected by a secret order (a sect of the templars) that utilises both ancient knowledge, supernatural powers and extraterrestrial know-how to protect us from cross dimensional entities (demons and spirits).

New world order - yes, it's there.

I can go on, but got to dash back to last year for a bit!

Black holes have been proven. I'm not an astrophysicist so why not read what they say instead of looking on David iykes YouTube page. Lensing of objects proves an existence of matter. The area around black holes vortexing proves a mass is causing it. Just because it's billions of miles away doesn't mean it can't be proven. Laws of science are universal.

If you don't understand something why not read up about it and study it? It's how the experts became experts in thier chosen field

The second shooter was his hungover security team in the car behind. They had been on an all night bender and accidentally discharged an assault riffle as they reacted to the 1st shot. The gun is clearly seen in the video but is not mentioned in the official reports. The officer who drew it was removed from presidential security. The first shot would likely have been fatal anyway and America would have imploded if the security services had owned up to shooting the President.

pretty much all these outlandish conspiracy theories have been debunked time and time again.

funnily enough I found the 440hz one yesterday..my god.In 2mins I easily found out some proper info.

Personally I'm glad youtube has demonetized a lot of conspiracy channels, such as flat earth.I report them especially when they have categorized their content as 'education' or 'science/technology'.

Mudflooders are great too...theres been a massive coverup of a global mudflood in the mid 1800's,mix it up with atlantis and giants-hey presto tinfoilhattery at its finest.

Quite funny some of the past doomsday channels are still up..that goalpost keeps on moving!

google is your friend:

The full moon is half a degree across. From the moon, Earth appears 3.7 times as large as the full moon or 1.8° across. While it would clearly appear larger to your eye, you could still fit nearly 3 Earths between the two stars at the end of the bucket of the Big Dipper. So yes, it’s bigger but not that big. It doesn’t look as large as you’d guess in the photos because the picture was taken with a “normal” lens, similar to what you’d use on Earth. The apparent size of objects in the sky has everything to do with what lens you use to take the picture. The astronauts used 60mm and 70mm lenses for lunar scenes so the Earth isn’t big in the frame. If they had taken a photo of it with a telephoto lens it would appear larger.

If you composed a scene on Earth that included the moon, it would look really small — just a little dot in the frame. The Earth looks larger to MY eye relative to the scene because I’ve taken lots of pictures of the moon in the sky and have a basis for comparison. If you have a 50-70mm focal length lens, you might try a little experiment with the upcoming full moon by taking a photo of a scene that includes the moon in the frame. You’ll get a feel for how small it looks. Bottom line though: Earth’s size in a photo depends on what lens you use, making it hard to judge how big it appears unless you’re standing there and looking up at it yourself.

I know some people are into "flat earth" for the fun: they either like the challenge of figuring out how the evidence could still be consistent with a flat earth; or they just like winding people up. Neither of those groups actually *believe* the earth is flat.

I remember, many years ago, someone worked out a bunch of satellite trajectories around a flat earth that would make the resultant pictures look like pictures of a sphere. That was clearly done for fun.

hey he's been away 10weeks..maybe changed his mind.

To me honestly?- I do not understand how any of these people can claim science has not been applied in the real world. As they sit on computers, mobiles, use GPS.

They claim nobody is an expert if they themselves(the conspiricyst(deliberate mispell)) havent witnessed or practiced it.So in effect, they dismiss spectroscopy as a science, dismiss geology as a science all to fit their narrative.Add in a few other sciences you get the drift.

All these conspiracies have to involve a few billion people, most of these few billion have to be utterly stupid to go through 4-5-6-10years of study and not find cracks in their 'indoctrination',and my main argument?

In this day and age,it's pretty difficult to keep anything off the internet, live stream some secret hidden truth get rich and famous- amazingly theyve been incapable of providing this on a consistent level, despite claiming to have proof that'll shatter the very fabric of humanity.

the problem is that many of these theorists cannot separate theory from scientific theory. In most cases it's if something doesnt make sense, then it cannot be correct.

My first foray when I learned about flatearth was from those claiming the clouds were behind the sun/moon,instantly I thought..hold fucking on a minute, thats just exposure, after that every other thing haas been easily understood and debunked-to a point of not really even needing complex maths.Currently the 'debate' is about disproving Einstein's gravity because it was 'theoretical physics'-it's a path into definitions now as opposed to common bloody sense.Admitting gravity is the flatearthers worst sphere.

Well they're CGI at best. NASA themselves say that they only have composites of Earth and have yet to take a full complete pic.

Correct me if I am wrong as I haven't checked my facts but didn't they turn one of the telescopes so it could take a picture. "

"Jesus is the Sun

As in; stops moving for a few days around easter then restarts and carries on moving across the sky?

lol...some believe it's more closely related to astronomy than the whollybhuuk.

Sun rises,moon,eclipses,seasons..and a similar story told over thousands of years before jesus.

Jesus is a Solar deity, it's all based on Astrology

yeah but he wasnt the first, yes it's astrology but of course it's astronomy at its basics."

The Story of Joseph is the same as Jesus .......12 brothers/diciples .....Joseph was betrayed by his brother judah .........Jesus was betrayed by Judas etc ...... There are twelve astrological symbols with the sun in the centre(Jesus).

"The very word conspiracy is designed to discredit the truth and those who raise it

The burden of proof lies with the accuser, bringing no evidence of any sort is a major downfall: and it's pretty impossible to stop information these days,no point in proclaiming to have proof about something huge when you have nothing.

Whats your thoughts on 911

I loved Fahrenheit 911,though as far as I can really only surmise,is that we or 'they' are doing dodgy deals all over the place..not too sure about intentional internal mass killing by the ruling office.

My own conspiracy I've held for years is probably that the western world might get too hot or cold and we'll be forced to bigger land masses such as asia/africa/maybe even ANTARCTICA(which is not an icewall ffs).We just need to get the infrastructure in,and that might mean the dollar needs to be there. From britain £82billion last year in arms, mostly to asia..strange thing to do when your facing that area as the biggest potential threat.

If it gets too cold in the west, we might build a version of skynet there..it's operation supercooled in the perfect climate."

or could they be getting ready for the reversing of the magnetic poles?-something we've never experienced as a species I guess..who knows what mutations will occur..etc

nasa has never said they only have cgi/composite pics of the earth.yes a telescope was used but it's resolution I believe was only really capable of pinpointing the orbiter, not for zooming in on flags or 'nauts on the moon.

I guessed you might mean the equinox. Where for two days the progression of the sunrise across the horizon appears to have stopped. On the third day it appears to have started moving again.

I'm sure we're talking about the same thing. Jesus is Ra, the Sun God, and all the other Solar deities worshipped around the world that have resurrection stories...

what I'm saying is Christianity is based on Egyptian myths, therefore Jesus(as a supernatural being) is a myth. For some reason Christians(and the other similar religions)can say their version is real, despite it being based upon stories thousands of years before them. Its lunacy.

A signed affidavit in 2002 by Walter Haut the Roswell Army Air Field public affairs officer, who had drafted the initial press release signed 8th of July 1947:

He stated he saw alien corpses and craft and he was involved in the cover up..

Is it not 1% possible he was actually telling the truth

The earth is round, what about the other planets we can see? Is the moon mars an sun flat? You can see these things without scientific instruments, dinosaurs are being dug up all over the place, I do agree with god and religion, just a story to make the typical dumb ass people feel like theres a man in the sky looking over there every move, funny how he needs money tho

"It's reasonable to use common sense and whatever rational thinking abilities you have, when presented with such BS ideas, taking less than a second to dismiss them. We're all able to do this, so contrarians or those who need to feel some excitement, or whatever it is they feel, that there's possibly some big cover-up going on, just need a moment of honesty - at least with themselves.

There will be some conspiracy 'theories' that are valid: we know that organisations manage public expectations and use smoke and mirrors, in order to divert attention, discredit etc. The ones listed here, I'm sure we're all able to assess their reasonableness and likelihood, based on the enormous evidence to the opposite. Flat earth: no. Etc.

The simplest explanation is generally the most likely - Occam's razor. The earth is likely to be spherical and there's not been a multi-billion £ conspiracy, involving all countries of the world, thousands of people over decades, a multitude of scientific disciplines, which have amassed tons of data supporting it being spherical, our satellite system networks etc.

It's healthy to have an open mind, to explore and contemplate/evaluate new concepts. And to be sceptical of those who would try to convince you against strong, valid scientific evidence.

I think the ever-watching, omnipotent God-style religions were a natural development from the days when human societies were no longer small and thus more difficult to control by the rich and powerful: a new type of God could now do this, on their behalf. And there are still millions of people who are in huge fear of their 'God', because of the judgements and punishments that await them. I don't view it as anything other than a likely very reasonable expectation that we die and physically decay, living on only as memories and from our influence as well as the recycling of the physical matter we were made of. "

"Whether you beleive Jesus was heavenly or not he 100% existed, documents from non Christian sources point towards this.

Roman tax officials documentation for one"

No there isn't that would be crazy... if the stories are true he was an indentured carpenter in his father's business until he was 33, so wouldn't have paid tax.

As for that 'lost' census when he was supposed to get born, that's just crazy.. why would anyone decide to tell the population to go somewhere else to get counted in the wrong place? Then lose every record of the count? Just madness is all...
