i dont go in for it.
i show Em i love her every day of the year (or at least tell her and show her when we are together) dont see why leaving it until one day a year would make it worth any more.

Because sometimes things are missing and a certain day brings the feelings that are surpressed and put to the back of the mind. We all find different things depressing.... |

An illness some of us have, the symptoms of which can be set off by little things like being alone on a day where people are conspicuously showing their love for one another.
I find alcohol and/or the company of hot single friends helps  |

We met on valentines day and got married the following Friday 13th July. This year is our 5th anniversary and our actual wedding anniversary falls again on Friday 13th!. We don't much bother with Valentine day, its just another way of extracting money through crass commercialism. |

etc etc etc, but then BAM!!! we just fell over each other. was awesome

Don't bother me to the slightest, it is just another day.

Valentines Day is a big hype IMHO - I never cared for it much and as such my partner has it easy lol. I much rather have surprises when I dont expect them and just because he wants to....
Also, it is quite nice to think of other people we are close to... life is not just about twosomes.... |

One thing that really bugs me about Valentine's Day is that it is 3 days after my birthday, and the price for all flowers are ridiculous this time of the year, and not just red roses, which I do not like.

Sometimes the reminder of it being valentines day depresses me too, makes me think am I destined to be a singleton for the remainder of my days.
I remember the loving gestures from my partner, he showed his love every day and in special ways throughout the year, but valentines day he made even more special for me.
However even in my saddest moments I smile thinking of those silly loving gestures and the love we shared.
I may have no valentine sweetheart now but I have a lifetime of memories to keep me smiling. I'm sure I'll survive yet another day without him and smile. xxxx  |
