What's your opinion on cannibals
Jump to: Newest in thread
Interestingly, despite the many lurid tales of historic cannibalistic tribes capturing and devouring unwary travellers in remote regions such as New Guinea, most of those who historically practiced anthropophagia (what a phonetically delightfully term!) actually did so not out of spite or malice but rather to ‘preserve’ the essence or spirit of the deceased who was invariably a cherished tribal and/or family member and who would have previously died of natural causes (luckily for them!) |

The Wari tribe from the Amazon area practiced cannibalism when they were discovered in 1950’s. Their logic was that they eat their dear ones when they die as it is more humane to be in the warm inside of a loved one than the cold earth.
My phrase 'each to their own' tends to fall down a little here. Couldnt chow down on a dead relative but that's my opinion |
