I agree, it was one of my favourite films as a child.

It was like lord of the rings and narnia had a baby.

"Can’t watch the horse scene to this day. "

Genuinely one of the saddest scenes in any child's film.

The source book is excellent. But you need to get it in the original imprint where the sections for the two different worlds are printed in different colours of ink.

The film was meh compared with the book.

Hefty Hideaway

I’m 36. Still, to this day the wolf scares the bejeezus out of me. My kid thinks it’s hilarious as time hasn’t been kind to the reality of the wolfs appearance. I still avert my eyes though.

Don’t even remind me of the swamp of sadness.

Somewhere In The Ether…

For anyone who doesn’t know them off by heart......

‘Turn around

Look at what you see-eeeeee-eeeeee

In her face

The mirror of your dreams

Make believe I'm everywhere

Given in the light

Written on the pages

Is the answer to a never ending story

Ah-ahhhhh-ahhhhhhhh

Reach the stars

Fly a fantasy

Dream a dream

And what you see will be-eeee-eeeeeee

Rhymes that keep their secrets

Will unfold behind the clouds

And there upon a rainbow

Is the answer to a never ending story

Ah-ahhhhhhhhh-ahhhhhhhh-ahhhhhh

Story

Ah-ah-ahhhh-ahhhhh-ahhhhhh-ahhhhh

Show no fear

For she may fade away

In your hand

The birth of a new day

Rhymes that keep their secrets

Will unfold behind the clouds

And there upon a rainbow

Is the answer to a never ending story

Ah-ahhhhhh-ahhhhhhhh-ahhhhhh

Never ending story

Ah-ah-ahhhhh-ah-ah-ahhh etc

Never ending story

Ah etc

Never ending story

Ah etc’

Love that movie. Always enjoyed watching it as a kid.

Definitely one of the best fantasy movies of the 80's.
