making a profit

Am wondering what the general swinging masses think of people charging others to go to thir birthday, engagement anniversary etc parties.
I dont not mean asking for a contribution of couple of quid towards a buffet if they need to, but more the people who advertise a party at their home to celebrate their birthday or whatever - but want £30 per atendee.
I KNOW everyone has the choice not to go etc, am just curious if people find it odd.
If i was having a birthday party and invited mates, collegues and family i would not make a profit from them attending, so why is it different if it is a sex party? |

wouldnt waste another post on it though, theyve asked for money and people decide if they want to pay and attend or stay away |

If someone wants to make a profit and make organising a party into a business venture, then (imo) they should run it like a business and register it as a business... declaire their income, pay tax and claim back the VAT on bed linen. |

sounds like a way of avoiding tax and getting round planning and saftey laws to me, if they run a business then they should act as one. |

We dont charge! if people want to make a contribution its up to them, we rent a few apartments for a weekend, provide a buffet and accommodation and we dont provide alcohol. |

If thy wanted to ask me to their party then charge me to go, I'd only have one thing to say ...
No thanks .......
Ok that was 2 things ... I'm not greedy but if someone asks me to a party I'd expect my contibution to be left to my dicrection .. after all, they asked me to attend, I didn't ask them if I could go |

We went to a paying party when we started swinging. Twas a disappointment to us, badly organised, boring and the food was Iceland. Never again, rather go to a club.
Been to non paying parties where they really spoilt us. |

we too have been to paying parties, where it has been slow, very slow but also been to clubs where we have had similar experiences! |

we went to a prty years aco and everyone one had to take a lottery ticket for the host it was fun they won 40 quid but the party was fab all food n drink free though we did take our own drink anyway but if we were asked to pay for a house party we would not attend |

As far as I am aware (and I could be totally wrong)
But if you charge for a sex party at a site other than a private club........ it becomes a brothel, be it a home or a club.
If you charge an entrance, or make a profit from the party (apart from at a private club) you become a brothel keeper........ which is illegal
You can ask for donations for food and drink but I think thats about it. |

Is it not against the site rules to charge for parties more than to cover cost?
What i mean is if escorts are not allowed to avdertise meets for money are these type of parties just escorting on another level? |

I've organised a social for my birthday ..... lots of people attended and paid to go.
I'd intended it to just be a few friends and I out for a meal and a drink but it snowballed.
However ..... it was a few pounds charge not thirty and once the hire of the hall buffet and disco were covered all the rest of the money went to two worth causes ....... one of which was Kitty's little Alfie's headstone ..... swingers helping out another swinger.
I don't know about the house parties but many birthday parties, anniversary parties, lunches, drinks nights, quiz nights organised here use all the profits made to donate to their charity of choice. |

Unfortunately, not all those that organise socials put the profits to a charity..........
There are those, even on FAB, who have organised a social, charged well over and above what they've spent and pocketed the money.
Therefore, in MY opinion, they have made a profit from selling sex. Clubs do it as just that..... private clubs and they have their overheads and staffing costs...... but they are run as legitimate businesses.
But to sell a night of socialising and sex for £30 or more, is wrong..... unless the profits go to charity.
But thats MY opinion |

If someone advertises a swinging/sex party as a birthday celeb etc then I think that's misleading and it should be called for what it is. As for charging to attend, that's between the host and the attendees and if they're happy to pay then who's place is it to say they shouldn't. |
