Which POV shots in horror movies (mainly the perspective of a monster or supernatural entity) are your favourite?

Mine has to be from the Evil Dead movies mainly the first one with the unseen force roaming the dark woods and going round the cabin watching the main characters.

Friday the 13th Jason Takes Manhattan.

The bit where he punches the head off the boxer.

Also while not exactly POV. Same film but when Jason is running through Manhattan and he knocks a stero over some punks are listening to. They shout after him and Jason just turns around and lifts up the hockey mask.

The kinetic POV shots in Evil Dead were quite amazing for sure.

Another great example, whilst less energetic but no less iconic was the protracted POV first scene in John Carpenter’s original Halloween which allowed us to see through a young Michael Myers eyes as he commits his first (of subsequently many!) murders.

The whole scene was done in almost one fluid take although if you look closely, you can see that there are one or two clever and subtle cuts.

It shows Jason is much more than a mindless deadite. He could have easily killed them but instead chose to fuck with their heads.

Yeah. If he wanted, he would have killed everyone he came across in Manhattan but he was focused on the main characters so killing every person in sight would have been a waste of time.
