Somewhere In The Ether…

Yes, I’m at it again

This time, I’m enquiring what your favourite musical genre is and additionally asking you to list your personal favourite artists within said field.

(Just for clarification purposes, I do not work for Sydney University nor in fact have I even ever visited Australia. I am merely a nosey git)

I can’t choose. My tastes are very diverse. I’d say everything except opera and jazz. Don’t like either of those.

Can’t specify as have a broad taste in music.

However, I’m currently enjoying a Brit Pop revival circa ‘94/95 on Absolute 90’s...

Torn between Minimalism - Philip Glass, and unclassifiable because they have a unique sound - Van der Graaf Generator.

Love all sorts from Metal to Reggae, Hip Hop to cheesy 90's Eurodance/Techno.

Favourite genre is probably Metal though and I don't think many have done it better than Pantera, particularly '94-'96 era.

But my favourite band is probably The Clash. They weren't known as 'The only band that matters' for nothing.

...Up on the Downs

Blues rock. When we heard the roar as King King won best band at the Blues Federation awards last year we thought we'd better find out what the fuss was about, and I finally got to see them recently! Both Nimmo Bros are hugely talented, and I love their wonderful rock ballads. Alan Nimmo puts his all into the guitar work (See this one from 10 mins on) it really resonates so strongly with me emotionally, and I love his voice too, so the big yin gets my vote!

I like all kinds of music but my ‘go to’ is probably pop music, mainly boybands stuff.

Although I was big into oasis and all that genre back in the day.

Danish x
