So just how long was she allowed to feel good about herself for?

If a woman joins this site and is inundated to the point of pulling her hair out, she can probably work out for herself that there's alot of knob jockeys and desperado's out there.

There is no way I'd burst her bubble, just help her along with perhaps showing her how to le out the idiots.

When i joined this site as a single female, I was at a fairly low ebb and the interest I got was very good (remembering that this was when the site very first opened and there wasn't a huge amount of members)......... it gave me confidence and some much needed self belief.

If any 'friend' of mine had tried to shoot me down like the OP, I'd have been looking for a new friend.

I don't think you patronised your friend and had one of my close friends done the same with me, I would have taken it as no more than a bit of mickey taking.

It is nice to have someone on here that you can 'bounce off' and banter with.

As long as friends are afforded the space and privacy to spread their own wings and find their own feet, then, to me, all is good

We do not know how the words were actually spoken do we, we only know how the OP has written her account of the conversation down. We also know from the OP that they are friends. Is the friend of the OP upset about what was said to her - apparently not, it seems to have been accepted in the way the OP intended.

It’s not really relevant as I haven’t, wouldn’t and have no intention of starting threads about another fab user. Now as I see it I spoke the truth and it is one point of view involving one party and so is only accurate from one viewpoint. I’m not sure of your IQ there but maybe you should stick to the thread instead of hypothesising about things than will never be. I am pointing out the way it looks. to say "unfortunately some people who rarely use the forums and who are not familiar" is a bit out of order, for all you know people read but dont post, many only comment on threads of interest. To insinuate because they dont post regularly then they dont read is a bit.... well lets say it only points towards an us and them mentality. Personally I that's what it said to me.

Fair enough I can see your point of view and I guess I can see mine. I like a lot will read and not post as life is busy. I do like some of the heated threads but have to be in the mood to join in.

I didn't think it was that bad, no posts removed by the looks of it and its not been closed just a fair bit of opposite opinions and some fire damage action. I've seen far worse heated exchanges if we stopped peoples views it wouldn't create the mirth it does.

If you care to look above I said that I do read often and dont feel the need to post, now I think that is acceptable isn't it. I have been polite, I was passing an opinion that's all as it has amused me which as long as its not offensive surely is acceptable.

only on reading did i see u say it was banter between the two of u, the thing is, it is not fair to expect others to know that. i remember saying the same thing to cali when her master posted to embarrass her, we are not here for your amusement.

i am glad your friend wasnt offended, i would have been devastated, and maybe we all need to think about which things would be better in pm than on the forums.

A post is a post that we all see and perceive differently from each other. Perhaps this depends on our personality or our mood on the day. We can all read into something we see, digest it, then dissect it to suit.

I read the initial post and the following comment and to date am starting to form an opinion. Yes an opinion, we all have them on here.

I think initially yes the post was banter with a friend with a slight twist of the OP's status in Fab shining through.

and it read, to ME and MY opinion that the OP was actually stating that her friend, with a new account thought she was Miss World because her friend said her pictures were HOT because she'd got loads of messages from men, and the OP shot her down in flames.

Each post reads differently to different people, there is no tone of voice in a typed opinion. However, the original post, in MY opinion, was that of someone who thoughtlessly and less than tactfully shot down a 'friends' high spirits because the 'friend' had more messages than the OP.

That may be wrong, but thats how I and many many more read it. I've re-read the post and it still reads the same.

Now, post anything about another member of FAB on an open forum and expect a differing of opinions and possibly a backlash for being indiscreet.

I have to say when I read the OP, my initial thought was "wow! That's not like Jo to be such a bitch!"...and to me, the comment WAS bitchy.

I comment on what I see and how I perceive what's written. I've never read a nasty comment from Jo, and I'm sure she didn't mean to cause offense, however, if she were my friend and told me don't think you're Miss World, the men on Fab will contact anything I'd be taken aback, but assume she was just being tactless.

However, if I then saw this thread I'd think "what a bitch" and drop her as a friend.

Just my view.

I have been here on foums a long time seen posts on this before.. she was the one calling her self Miss world and i was loving it .. as made her feel good and happy .. When i posted it i never see it at all as being nasty . just saying how things are on here.

And on that note, I think this has runs it's course.

I find the condemning ( for want of a better word ) of people posting a view on a thread to a regulars post uncomfortable.

No matter if you are a regular or a newbie, your post won't be read the same way by everyone and may well have different views on it.

If everyone agreed with a persons post just because they think they are nice normally, we would all be sheep so let's let others have their views without implying there is any malicious agenda.
