"Grandstand and bring back all the decent sport for them to show! "

Actually... i have always said there is a cheap way for them to do this.... if they just concentrated on "olympic sports" or ones at the commonwealth games (which sky basically doesn't cover.... you make those sports a lot bigger and always have a 2 year cycle into those events.....

but that is just me being sports nerd.. its not like those sports wouldn't just crave national attention now...

Forever with Ioan Grufford - That was quite charming and sadly cancelled after only one season.

Between The Lines with Neil Pearson - I hated not knowing his fate!

There and to the left a bit

Soldier Soldier has already been mentioned but would be very different if set in current times and probably a lot more gritty.

Good to see London's Burning get a mention too - I always thought (putting aside channel differences) that a hybrid of London's Burning, The Bill and Casualty could work, showing how the three emergency services work together.

That all said, I'm not sure bringing anything back in terms of drama would necessarily work, whenever it's been tried it's failed - Reggie Perrin being a good example.

Although Cold Feet is a good example of how it could work, but probably helped by it being the original cast and writer, so was more like they'd taken a break rather than it being a re-make.

Camberley occasionally doncaster

It's a tricky one.

Both Netflix and Amazon are doing loads of remakes. Going on YouTube and getting all nostalgic I realised that most programs don't age well, they were "of their time" or a particular actor made it.

Just look at how many remakes the have been, many sink without trace after a single series, due to initial interest from those experiencing it for the second time, then waning rapidly when they realise that all the cgi cannot make up for not living up to how you felt about it when you were 8.

For me it would be better to leave those things that have gone firmly in the past to occasionally get the rose tinted glasses on than leave precious memories to be ruined by moneymen and creative types that have no concept of the wider view from the time of the original.

There was a kids show in the nineties called ZZZap! that i used to love. It was created with deaf pwople in mind so there was no taljing in it. Even now I would probably watch it if it was on TV. I bet there's nothing like that on children's television these days.

I'm not sure about TV shows for adults. Maybe The Word, although I was only bery small when it aired the first time.

"Bring back Futurama....go bender !

That episode with his dog

Will never watch that again. Got me right in the feels. .

his dog called "Seymour" waiting for him through the seasons..snow etc..with the song something similar to 'I would wait forever' is one of the most emotional things ive seen on tv,bar Dianes funeral

"

.

just found it on YouTube 'Seymour waiting for Fry". I will wait forever Connie Francis. Ahhh

Working nightshift i have been watching a lot of 70's and 80's programmes.

Minder

The Professionals

The Sweeney

I would love to see a modern take on these

Also been watching a few sitcoms from the 70's, so very far from being politically correct, you wouldn't get away with characters like Alf Garnet and Rigsby these days, but still classics
