I'm just having a chat with someone about voices and how they can sometimes be different to what you had imagined.
I like to chat by phone because I feel like I can get a better feel for someone that way. It hasn't happened yet but I wonder if I'd ever be put off by someone's voice.
Has that happened to you? What was it about it that put you off? |

Iv been put off by someone’s voice as I think through messages you build up and image of someone then when they speak it’s not what you’d imagined, so now I make sure we speak early on or meet for a social |

A tiny bit off topic op but do you remember on here last year ( I think) when everyone was going to you tube and recording themselves so others could hear their voices, it was so weird to put a voice to the user, anyhow sorry just popped in my head  Mrs blue eyes |

I'm always confused by my own voice, that whole thing of hearing yourself talk deal, it sounds different to you than it does to others.
I have no idea how anyone could, but I often get told that they think I have a sexy voice...  I really don't hear that when I hear a playback of it. |

I sound way more west country on playback. In my head I have a bbc accent. As in BBC news not the usual use of bbc here haha |

Yes. It’s happened to me twice. I
Once went instantly off someone on the phone because of their voice, in fact I even accused them of putting on a silly voice  (it was like mr bean)
One was slower over time.
