You need me to kick your arse? I can do that. I can also cheer you on from the sidelines.

You've got bigger balls than me going cold turkey.

Good luck! I gave up cold turkey 15 years ago it can be done but don't be afraid to ask your practice nurse or local pharmacist for help and advice if needed. You can get nicotine replacement products on prescription.

Good luck OP. I still want a cigarette from time to time now but it's doable. Make sure you find something to do when the cravings kick in!

You don't need luck, it's all about mental strength.

Change your life for the better

Never smoked (well apart from experimenting in my teens) but I have a massive respect for those who have a regular habit and choose to stop. Good luck Op, the long term health benefits are worth the effort

Difficult but achievable. Ritual habit of smoking such as after food, sex etc to overcome as well as the physical addition itself

Its the ritual habit I think I'm going to struggle with most. I kind of hate tobacco and the hold it has on me, everytime I get the urge for one, it makes me cross that I'm being so weak.

There and to the left a bit

Good luck GK - you're not wrong about the ritual habit bit - I gave up almost 3 years ago, but swapped the ciggies for a vape which fed the ritual habit bit and it's that I need to beat next at some point.

I don't trust vapes. Yes it's healthier than smoking, but I don't think it's a healthy alternative.

Keeping my mind active and fingers busy will be the key. Look forward to a Forum spamathon
