I'm totally not enjoying the new series of Les Miserables because the guy playing Javert is totally wrong.Even putting aside that no black man would have been a police inspector in 19th century Paris,he just plays the character wrong

Aw Jeese. Thought Hopkins was amazing in Silence of the lambs. One of the sequels years and years later when he was supposed to be younger was laughable though.

But.....I'll go for Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher.Awful if you read the books.

"Peter Davidson as Dr Who.Although I remember the 1st one.W.Hartnell ,I think Tom Baker was THE Dr Who."

He was a bit weak admittedly but nonetheless quite likeable I thought; Tom was amazing as was Pertwee.

I’ve been a bit unhappy with some of the recent incumbents in the role since the show has returned to be honest.....and that includes Tennant who I found for the most part, annoying. (Controversial alert!)

I’m not a fan either.

Was ok in Snatch......and possibly the original Transporter. I lump him along with the likes of Danny Dyer.

He wasn't Bourne, Matt Damon wasn't available/didn't want to do the sequel so he filled in. In the film you see snippets of Borne - Renner's character was just another Treadstone operative.

He was amazing in Awakenings with Robin Williams

That was 1990!!! I'm on about lately "

Ahh ok . My initial response on De Niro was in answer to the original post and silence of the lambs . (1991)

"Are there any actors/actresses you feel didn't suit a role.Film or tv.Who would you have had play the role? to me Anthony Hopkins never seemed scary enough as Hannibal Lector, would love to have seen Robert De Niro play that part !

Aw Jeese. Thought Hopkins was amazing in Silence of the lambs. One of the sequels years and years later when he was supposed to be younger was laughable though.

But.....I'll go for Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher.Awful if you read the books.

You nailed that one. Reacher? A 5ft tall pretty boy???? Do me a favour...."

I always pictured Daniel Craig.

"Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. When u read the books you have Jack as a powerful big guy. Not a shorty like Tom. Liam Neelson would have suited the role "

Yeah, he would be perfect, if maybe a little old. With the 20 plus books, if they were very successful there could be many films, and unfortunately Neeson get to g in.

"It pains me to say it but Jeremy Renner as Bourne.he wasn't actually Bourne... He was another agent like Bourne

I must have missed that memo!

You do realise that I am now gonna have to watch it again to make sure! "

True story bro. They didn't want to recast in case Matt Damon could be persuaded to come back in a later film, which he did.

He certainly made for a poor substitute for big Arnie in the Conan reboot a few years ago.

A film easily forgotten indeed....

It’s a wonder his dialogue looking up to Jesus on the cross wasn’t “Get off your horse and drink your milk”.

Agreed. But I was sick when after the reboot that Christpher Eccleston left.Thought he was great. Then I thought David Tennenant was fab (lol), and maybe even better than Tom Baker ( I'll wash my mouth out with soap ), but down hill after Tenant.

It took me 18 months to get used to Peter Davison because his character was so different from that portrayed by Tom Baker. But in a way that was the point, each Doctor is different while retaining some basic character qualities.

How she demands her pay when she’s nothing more than mediocre in overhyped films is beyond me. "

The Dr will always by Tom Baker for me, but maybe that’s my age. I’ve beer re-watching the first ‘new’ series with Christopher Eccleston and am really enjoying them.

I’d also like to buck the trend and say I’ve enjoyed the latest series, but she needs to dial back the wackiness a bit.

Swap Leo and Matt Damon around in The Departed. Leo threatening Jack Nicholson looked ridiculous.

Ben Barnes was nowhere near good enough looking to portray Dorian Gray either. Though swapping actors wouldn't save the film.

Adam Sandler plays Adam Sandler in every film. Huge list.

Sean William Scott seems to play Stifler in every film too.

Both are maybe not errors so much as the character sells and they can't do a whole lot else.
