Does it matter for you when you want to shag someone you are physically attracted to? I was so attracted to a girl but when I knew her political opinions I was so turned off.

Depends how different and how vocal they are about it. We don't have to vote for the same party to shag, but I'm going to get on better in the chat with someone with a similar world view. Sometimes I can tell right away by username or tattoos that our politics don't align and I'd write them off right away. |

Maybe it's different here because politics and football are so entwined, so it's more obvious. For example I bodyswerve anyone with things like 1690 or 1888 in their username. |

She was hot lol and wanted me but I canceled. Totally a turn off  Personally I have sex in my mind before physical and political views does make my mind turned on or off.
I understand people are different but for me I would struggle to shag someone I know that they share those kind of views.  |

Just the same as for usernames. Particularly in Glasgow, football allegiances dictate a lot of politics and certainly phrases/emblems tattooed would be a no-go. |

I was reading a thread the other day about people who won't have sex with bi men, and there's a kind of congruence with this thread.
Here's my problem. There are different types of sex to me, and sex as part of a relationship with someone you like is different from just sex. I have been, at times, a bit of a slut. Hell, I've been a lot of a slut. The odds on me knowing the political opinions of some of the people I've had sex with are pretty slim given that I haven't even known their names. If we're in a club and someone is desirable and up for it I'm not going to hand them a questionaire cloned from Harmony.com or the like to find out whether we're compatible - the negotiation is strictly about oonsent and what next. Given that in my youth I took great pleasure in turning hyper macho men (like skinheads) and making them be sub to me it's quite likely I have fucked men who, if they expressed their political opinions, might have got a smack in the mouth from me. (I'm older and wiser now, but I was a hot blooded young 'un)
Coming back to the bi-men isue, I get that some people don't want to have sex with me because of who I might have had sex with before, or who I might have sex with in the future. I don't understand it, but I respect it. If some people go beyond that being a matter of taste and are repelled by the idea of having sex with someone who's had sex with another man, they're probably bi-phobic, but provided they don't discriminate against me in any way other than choosing to have sex with me, that's their problem, not mine.
So have I kissed a tory? Probably. Would I in the future? Probably, unless I enter a monastery. Would I buy them a drink before or after if I knew they were a tory? Probably not, although I have got a few friends of that inclination who are decent people, if wrong.

Ultimately it comes down to attraction and part of attraction for me is connecting with someone beyond a physical level - so if their political views were that radically opposed to my own it would probably come out before we got to meet and would suggest there was no connection, so the meet wouldn't happen.
That said in the immediacy of a club environment I have probably met and played with people that hold opposing views to me and not known it - does it bother me? Not in the slightest, in that moment we found other common ground.
In the context of an arranged meet from here where I do invest time in getting to know people though it may affect whether we eventually met or not as I suggested at the start. |

I was chatting to a girl on a dating site not so long ago. She turned out to be quite the activist. Full on SJW. That was a huge turn off. I moved swiftly on after that. |

To be fair my tattoos probably give a good idea as to my politics and spiritual beliefs, I would imagine I (we) would avoid meeting people we had a massive political difference with, and that it would become quite obvious if that was the case as we tend to chat to people before we meet them

i don't talk religion or politics with anyone other than my actual family and real friends ..
fab for me is just for casual sex fun ,, not interested in peoples views on that sort of stuff or divulging mine ,, been on socials where people have gone on off about brexit , religion etc i just changed subject ..
For me I have zero care for someones views/stances on that stuff , it has no baring for sex .

I'm not sure we've ever discussed politics with any prospective meets, and if any future meets broached the subject via message regardless of their leaning I personally would consider they would bore me to sleep not charm my undies off and not arrange a meet on that basis. |
