Great movie! .....Shitty ending...
Jump to: Newest in thread
You know the ones; You’re enjoying the film throughout until that is, the climax, which is either completely crap, underwhelming, anticlimactic, abrupt or else just plain illogical or daft.
List here those movies which have (due to the ending) rendered you either scratching your head in befuddlement, waving your fists in anger and wanting your money back or else rolling your eyes.
Off you go |

The Happening
Not really just the ending, but near the end once you figure out what is happening, I could have punched the director had he been in the rough when I watched that pile of tripe |

In the same vein and a similar premise... birdbox on Netflix. |

I’ll list, The Game here staring Michael Douglas.
Fantastic movie throughout until the ridiculous and hugely silly ending.
Also, one I watched the other day, Tully.
A good film until the shameless, Fight Club ripped off ending.

"10 cloverfield Lane the last 10mins were absolute tripe"
Good call - the whole tacked on alien angle actually cheapened all that preceded it which was such a shame as it was such a delightfully tense and claustrophobic movie until then. |

Sometimes I think that open endings are a good way to finish, a big denouement wouldn't have suited the character driven film. Perhaps not the best ending ever but some good songs fade out rather than stop. |

Great film. I liked the unusual ending, we all so used to movies been wrapped up from a start middle and end. Refreshing to leave with a what if ending |

"Got another one La La Land what the fuck ? Don’t know how she won an Oscar for that x"
I watched this last week and thought the same.
I love Ryan G and Emma Stone is easy on the eye but neither was Oscar material.
Wanted to slap them both. |

Bone Tomahawk. A great character driven movie featuring great performances from the main cast including Kurt Russell and Patrick Wilson until the final half hour when it suddenly takes a complete turnaround into a full on Deodato’esque, cannibal torture fest.
It just didn’t sit well with me |

Fatal Attraction, they actually filmed a great ending in which she kills herself and frames him for her murder. However due to test screening they decided to go for the weakest ending in my opinion.

Kill Bill Vol.2
Actually, I didn’t much like the whole film but kept watching for what promised to be a grand old final fight between Uma Thurman and dastardly David Carradine.
Alas, after talking bollocks for a seeming eternity together, the fight is over in about two seconds flat.

Totally agree, I was actually on board with it for a while; an hour and a half of simmering tensions between Bruce and Clarke but then it just went ridiculously trite |

"The Last Samurai; Fantastic movie but Tom Cruise is conveniently the ONLY man on the battlefield to survive?! What was the bastard probability of that?! "
Machine guns were at head height - everyone else gets shot in the face but the line of fire passes over the midget's head.
Seriously though, you're right, totally destroys the idea of self sacrifice and honour that is the bedrock of the film. |

"Into The Woods; It would have been a much better movie had they have ended it thirty or so minutes earlier yet the makers decided oddly, to drag it on after the main story ended."
Ahhh...that's the point of the film, based on Sondheim's musical it's all about how it could not always be "happily ever after " in fairy tales...now wierd endings...try ANY Peter Weir film!!! |

Most stephen King book to film projects.
But then despite loving his books, most of them have shitty endings. |

The bit when the dickhead son is alive at the end of it, despite him running off into the massive firestorm halfway through the film as the military throw everything they have at the martians in a last stand. There is no way he would have survived that when the military were all wiped out. I know it's fiction but give it some credibility instead of Spielberg family values. |

Ahhh yes - I’d wiped that from my memory

I would have liked to see Mildred and Jason 'meet' the guy who killed the daughter . Thought the movie was brilliant . I cried. But the ending was pretty lame . |

I wasn't even sure that the guy they were driving to, actually killed her, I think it was just an act of desperation for resolution on their part. That's why I thought the ending was good; the ambiguity and uncertainty. |

How it ends, on Netlix.
Considering the title of the film, it doesnt end, it just stops. Its like there should have been another 15/20 minutes but they just cut it off the end.
Good build up, and then nothing, ruined the film |

I thought the message within the film was, yes get justice even revenge but be carefull how you execute it, with her nearly burning the guy who so nearly was her bigggest help in the end. |

Should have thought of that .
Will watch again and think that through . But I did want Mildred to get closure. |
