Ok... Whats films and scenes with music, gave you an emotional heft. Something that elevated the movie for you from good to great.
Like.
Shawshank Redemtion - Exiting the tunnel in the rain
Field of Dreams - "Wanna have a catch" scene at the end
American beauty - Roses falling from the ceiling
Blade Runner 2049 - ANY Scene (Hans Zimmer is a genius)
Go on... enough examples.. give me some.

Bad Moon Rising - American Werewolf in London
'Imagine' at the end of the Killing Fields.
Elgar's Requiem at the end of Platoon"
the genius that is Hans Zimmer again. Yeah Great music. I have Interstellar and I keep having to turn the sound down at certain points as it would kill me speakers!
Elgar - Perfect & Heartbreaking |

Devils rejects, besides lynyrd skynyrds freebird for the final shootout, when the credits start they start playing a song called seed of memory by a solo artist called Terry Reid! It’s one of those songs that make the hairs stand on end! Amazing voice! Turns out terry Reid was asked to join led zeppelin before Robert plant was, he turned them down to carry on with his own carrier, who knew led zep would be a massive success?? |

The soundtrack to Lost in Translation is amazing anyway, but I got the biggest goosies from the unexpected, but utterly-perfect-for-the ending, Just Like Honey by the Jesus and Mary Chain.
Oh, and Gabriel’s Oboe from the Mission.
Sometimes it Snows In April by Prince from the much underrated and misunderstood Under the Cherry Moon.
Mysteries of Love by Jules Cruise from Blue Velvet.

All of the Mission is heartbreaking. That music added just slays you into tears.

"Hip to be Square in American Psycho "
I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself. |

Zimmer really is fantastic. Many greats have been mentioned. I'm looking forward to his show in Manchester next year.
I was so surprised to find how many films he has done then when you get into it you start to recognise his style.
Pirates of the Caribbean- he's a pirate
Inception - time
The theme from the ring.
Da Vinci code - chevaliers de sangrial.
Other favourites
Sunshine - surface of the sun
The Truman show - raising the sail when Truman is heading out to sea in the storm I think.
Pay it Forward - Possibility
A Series of unfortunate events OST.
August Rush OST.
The end theme from Man on Fire feat. Lisa Gerrard. Any time I hear dead can dance's track A Host of Seraphim in a film or tv show I'm blown away. Ms Gerrard's made up language is breathtakingly beautiful.

Theres a Hans Zimmer concert on Netflix - Very Good!
Funny to think he was a member of The Buggles, you can see him in Video Killed The Radio Star video!
Man on Fire, what a fantastic film Denzels finest pairing with Tony Scott
Lisa Gerrard's voice is stunning, loved her on the Aria track on Layer Cake as well. |

Yes I've seen that show Netflix and have been keeping an eye for tours. Totally splurged on tickets but I know it'll be worth it if it's anything like his Prague show.
I haven't seen layer cake since it came out shall have to check it out again. I think at the time it was trying to be snatch/lock stock which have great soundtracks too.

I think Matthew Vaughan was glad to be out of Guy's shadow.

I mentioned it in another thread recently. I think it might actually officially be The Most Beautiful Thing Ever Recorded. It’s that good.
I saw the Cocteau Twins at the Barrowlands years ago and Liz was stunning to hear live. |
