"Anything in excess isn't healthy or the lack of it also if you don't eat red meat at all you end up with an iron deficiency as you need to ear 2kg+ of spinach a day just to get close."
Spinach has a higher iron content than (steak)? And there are many sources of iron available |

"Everything in moderation I say
Except sex obviously that would just be silly.
So rich coming from you Nora! "
Why? I only fail on the chocolate cheese and cocktails when it comes to moderation. Oh and wine and biscuits. Yeah ok you’re right it is a bit rich coming from me but it’s a good concept. |

Spinach is the highest source in the plant world thats edible and no there is far more absorbable in read meat I thought everyone would be aware of that who cares what they eat or not. |

I call shenanigans. I heard that was a typo during the war."
The decimal point was put in the wrong place. In fact it can only be claimed that spinach is a source of iron as it falls short of the amount that would allow it be called high in iron.
Also natural acids within the plant actually bind much of the iron so it can't be absorbed by the human gut.
In short, if you want a natural ready source of iron stick to red meat. |

"I only eat the meat of animals who are vegetarians.
What about fish and chips? Cod are carnivores. "
Not a fan of fish to be honest and I don't like chips unless they're overcooked to hell and mahogany brown. So, no chippy I've ever been to then |

A good whack over the head with a frozen leg of lamb would kill the best of us I reckon. Eating the odd lump of cow won’t kill you tho. Life expectancy is going up not down. |

When the last mad cow disease kicked off, I went over to Jersey and had a t-bone steak the size of a toilet seat |

Problem is heim iron, from meat, isn't as bioavailable without certain of vitamins and minerals being consumed at the same time
Not veggie or vegan but our bodies evolved to process a fraction of the meat we currently consume. |

I am reminded of this joke
Doctor, how can I live longer than 100 years?
Do you smoke? No.
Do you eat too much? No.
Do you go to bed late? No.
Do you have affairs with promiscuous women? No.
Then why the fuck would you want to live more than 100 years? |

Not eating meat doesn’t give you iron deficiency, if you manage your diet correctly. Plus, the iron levek for one person can be very different to another and both be fine. Women can range hugely. Iron from meat is the best way for your body to absorb it though. |

"I'll eat pretty much anything apart from that god-awful vegan meat alternative shite. Knocking on the door of 50 and still fit as a butcher's dog. "
Now, (going to get slaughtered for this) but why do they make vegetarian stuffs in the shape of sausages! Burgers and other meat like items? I'm told it's to offer more choice? Really?
If that's the case why not call it a soya stick? Or soya slab? Or genetically grown plant based patte
I read about a veggie burger that 'bleeds' basically it's a beetroot 'burger' but it's not a burger! It was disturbing tbf, why would any veggie eat that!
Sorry, I know that will offend! |

A few reasons, one in particular that springs to mind is that some people who suffer from gout may really want red meat but it forms crystals in their joints that cause immense pain. So the pleasure of biting into something that reasonably closely compares to say a beef burger in terms of texture and visually can be just enough for them to manage. I'm sure that's not the reason intended but it's one I can think of. |

Oh. I see, that could be one reason.
