Saying that a good friend wrote me a veri that was full of the Fab clichés, including that, it was a private joke and had me in stitches when I read it.
Sadly he's gone UNLOS now & the veri disappeared with him  |

I never get it when I see this. As if treating someone with respect is not what you would ordinarily do or is somehow an option to ensure more fun. Always makes me wonder about the people who write it. |

Yes it does seem a given, a minimum, but everyone has their own ideas what respect is in practice, what I might find disrespectful might be ok to someone else and vice versa.
If someone needs to quote that respect is needed then maybe they weren't expecting to encounter being respected themselves, so it was a stand out feature of the meet when they were, a compliment.

That's the very reason I stopped. When I first started on here over 3 yrs ago I thought it only fair to exchange a face pic and being the type of guy I am I'd send one first when seeing this requested in their profile. When one gets a no reply deleted message afterwards I just started to get annoyed with it and stopped. It's progressed to the point I never send the first message now either simply because of all the time wasted reading and then carefully composing only to see it binned 99%of the time. Hasn't stopped getting meets. If anything what it has done is created a more comparable meet selection process for me. |
