Lust is when they walk through your front door you have an absolute fantastic time and when they leave you dont think about them again until the next time if there is a next time.
Not sure you can define love |

Lust is when you want to rip their clothes off and shag them silly.
Love is when you want to rip their clothes off and shag them silly but you don't mind if they snore their way through the night, fart first thing in the morning, drink your coffee, watch car programmes/football on the telly and they don't moan if your feet are cold when you get into bed and they don't mind if you cry when PMT takes over the urge to cry at the drop of a hat. |

You need someone because you love them. You need to shag someone because you lust after them.
Simples.
If the two are a coincidence it can make life interesting. |

For me, love is a feeling I feel naturally after feeling someone I like.
Lust is a feeling that makes me want to feel someone I'd like to feel.

It can be easy to confuse the two, especially in the early stages of a relationship.
Here's a case in point from my own experience.
I had been going out with this lass for about a couple of months when one night we were going at it like rabbits. We were enjoying a bit of dirty talk as you do and I tried to say to her "mmmm.....I love your pussy"
I'm not sure what the hell my mind was playing at as I only managed to say "mmmm......I love you!"
We ended up in a relationship for three years and I genuinely belive I was in love with her,but not quite that early on,or maybe I was and it was my subconcious mind doing the talking?
who knows?
I would be interested to know what others make of this? x |

Love and lust are basically the same.. what seperates them in my mind is if its selfish acts or not.. for instance for me its love if you will do something for the other person.. Lust is much more selfish emotion..
To many people confuse the two and to be honest they can feel very similar at the start..
I had to write a task on this not so long back for my Master.. its to long to post in but I did properly research it

See I have to differ Cali because I can love people who have no connection whatsoever with my libido. Some of my best friends are people with whom I have no sexual or lustful connection, people with whom I work on projects, who share my interests and who feed my curiosity and my need to be interested.
I also love my parents, while believing that there are certain things one should never try - incest and folk dancing for instance.
And also, I would have to hoist a flag of warning, and admit to occasions of what I call Edwina Currie lust - there are some people you might shag but not give a shit what happens to them afterwards

"Lust is conditional
Love is unconditional
"
+1
Lust can be selfish, each taking what they want.
Love is self sacrifice expecting nothing in return, fulfilling the other's needs.

Love and lust...are very similar...ease to get them confused...
Love is both painful...when the person has gone...out you life even for a minute...and something that lifts the spirit in that look exchanged between the lovers...
Lust has not pain attached but does bring happiness fleetingly...and goes without leaving any feelings.

Its all in the brain love and lust its just a feeling and a feeling that can make you jump for joy and can even kill you. Its a feeling we get and at times we have to learn to live with it .. when its so hard too. |

As kids we've all heard the story of the tortoise and the hare.
Lust is like the hare, flash, fast, adrenaline boosted bursts (and spurts) that are impressive but don't last the distance. It goes as quickly as it arrives.
Love is like the tortoise, you don't always see it's potential at the beginning but you quickly realise that it's constant, steady, strong enough to face adversity or the 'hills and valleys' of life and has the stamina to go the distance.
Some say there is little difference between the tortoise and the hare, I would beg to differ.

"Is there a middle ground between the two does anyone think? "
That would be an FB.
Lust is the fire that drives the emotions, friendship is when you look forward to seeing them again, love is both plus a lot... |
