You are not kidding, I was driving through a village near me the other day, honestly looking from above it must have looked like a 50 car pile up.
The looks of hatred I got for wanting to merely drive straight on. |

On a serious note I used to deliver to schools, it's a tragedy waiting to happen. It's modern parents for you. You get people carriers and 4 by 4's, all much higher than your average 8 year old. |

Have you noticed how some of the parents think that the hazard/no parking markings outside the school are reserved for them to park on?
If you google (is it ok to link to google?) "you park like a cunt" there is a site for these people.

Would you have enjoyed being in the bush under different circumstances? ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
I love driving along the road to my local school in my tractor at school start/close time. The road is rural and quite narrow and the looks of horror I get when they realise that if they don`t slow down and get into the bank, they are going to lose a sizeable chunk of bodywork on my front bucket! ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

Thank god that was posted by a woman!!!..it could have started a civil war if a fella had posted it!!
What annoys me is the fact that these drivers wont park anywhere that would involve their little cotton wool wrapped cherub having to walk any further than five metres to the school gates..just in case the poor mite got wet.. ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

I think you see your tractor as a weapon of sorts and not just a vehicle sometimes....some of your posts regarding your tractor and the glee you get by being bigger than other motorists make it look that way at times...
Let's just hope you don't take it too far and have to live with the consequences of your actions. |

I play golf with a headmaster of a secondary school and they find this a big problem, because they're chauffeur driven everywhere, they get no road sense.
So come 11 and 12 when they're told that they're old enough to walk themselves to school, they promptly get run over.

Why the hell can't kids just walk to school, cycle or catch the bus FFS?
I reckon its because most of the time their parents don't get up early enough to get them up and ready for school.
They can't be arsed to get up until the last minute, then rush their kids off to school in the car, probably without any breakfast either! R

All my kids walked to school (unless it was literally pissing it down).
Fresh air and the walk are the best exercise for kids.
You can't move through Cheltenham between 2.45 and 3.30 for the school run drivers, and most schools have their own buses!!! ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

No it isn't, its because they want to show off their last materialistic vehicle their husband paid for
I work in a pub right next to a school, the kids play football on a field nearby on a Saturday and the car park is always full of cars where parents cannot be bothered to walk the 5 minutes from their house to the field, pure bloody laziness, even in summer ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

If it was nicely trimmed one....of course
On a serious note, some of the school drivers do annoy me. They double park, block the roads and drive like they are in Formula 1.
I walk our daughter to school and have nearly been knocked over a couple of times while walking on the pavement. All because some drivers can't be bothered to wait for the oncoming traffic. |

My daughters school is less than a mile away but I drive her and pick her up every day... I have to use the car because she is disabled...
So not all do because they can't be bothered to get up.
There is two spaces for disabled parking at school... I rarely get in it...
This is a secondary school too...
My little ones I walk to school...

I work in a primary school we have a large proprtion of disabled and cared for children. Parking by ignorant lazy parents have forced us to employ somebody to man the school gates on a morning and afternoon. He has been asked by the police to photograph cars parked on the zigzags and double yellows and they say they will take action. I personally dont think he should be doing this as the sites health and safety rep I have told him not to as this could cause more problems than it solves (we have a lot of gypsy kids usually their parents just leave the vans whereever they want)I can't see the police compensating him when somebody thumps him for taking their picture its something the council and police should be sorting out between them. |

Two reasons I drive to school.
1, I can't walk that far to school (couple of miles there and back) because my back is knackered.
2, I want to know that my child has got there and back safely without fear of nonces loitering near the schools (recently there has been a couple of letters issued about suspect cars/people in our area). |

Cheers I can't understand the ones that stop in the middle of the road and just chuck the kids out of the car and drive off. One of the first things we teach our kids is road safety. |
