I have four dogs
Two and a half years ago I asked my hubby if we could get a cat. I was determined I didn’t want a dog, and he knew that. He said no, then bluffed and said ‘it’s a shame you don’t want a dog, I’d be okay with that’.
Within two months we had two dogs, and then a year later one of the breeders got in contact with us - they had found out two of their girls from another litter (they were four years old when we got them) had been badly neglected, and would we take them. So now we have four dogs |

"Tropical fish no hassle "
At my previous job I worked alongside this absolutely lovely girl. She was my age and I consider her a really good friend. But she’s really ditsy. She kept getting tropical fish and doing everything right, but they kept dying. I jokingly said ‘are you remembering to cut their fins off when you get them? You need to cut them off, they grow back and become used to their new tank’. Yes, she believed me. Thankfully she researched it before doing it, then phoned me to say she couldn’t find any info on it |

Yeah they are as long as you get their cage set up properly with lots of things for them to play with. They make awesome little pets, they are so smart and affectionate. |

We love all animals, can’t really say we have a preference. We currently have 4 cats and 3 chickens. We’d both love a dog but work commitments mean it would be left alone for long periods which wouldn’t be fair on a dog. Cats don’t mind being left so much, they just sleep!
At one time I did have a real menagerie which worked great at the time as either myself or my ex husband was always at home to care for them. I had 3 cats, 1 dog, 1 rabbit, 2 chinchillas, 2 gerbils and 2 tropical fish tanks |

One if ours recognises the sound of our cars and as we pull up at the house she comes running from wherever she’s been exploring or decimating the local wildlife. She meows like crazy and rolls around on the floor until we fuss her. |

Prefer dogs. Don't have time for one tho. My mum got a cat when we were younger and my dad lifted it up by the scruff of the neck and said no cat will be in this house. He went out and came back with a puppy |

Cats. 1 blue British shorthair.
Dogs are needy whereas cats are more companionable without the obvious neediness.
Dogs tend to be more trainable and do what they’re told more often. I like a cats independent fuck you kinda attitude.
All in my opinion of course.

I’d love a dog but I live on my own and work full time so it wouldn’t be fair to leave it for so long. I have three cats. Two grown up ones that I rescued and I recently took on a kitten that was in need of a home. I also have a gerbil who needed a home with his brother after being passed around from pillar to post. The brother sadly popped his cloggs recently though. |

I now have 2 cats, the lowest number in quite a long time. I haven't had a dog since I was a child, have had lots of rats, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, stick insects, a gecko, a snake and a tarantula though |

I love most pets and have kept a variety of birds (including chickens), fish, cats and dogs. Presently, I have a lovely lilac Persian boy, who is 11 months old. Up until 2 months ago, I have a Cavalier King Charles for 10 years, before he past away. |

I adore cats but my estranged husband is allergic. So we have dogs. Well I got custody anyhow. I also have a tortoise who is a new addition but I fell in love immediately. She’s only a baby so hopefully she will be with me a rather long time to come yet. The only drawback is the incessant knocking of shell on wood as she esio trots around her run. I got one that looked like it would absorb the sound - it doesn’t |

"1 dog, he knows his place.
Spark out on the sofa? "
Not at the moment, he's bouncing around like a jack in the box. I just took him for his 2nd walk of the night and it hasn't calmed him down. |

"Dogs definitely.
A dog will sit by your side, pining for you after you shuffle off this mortal coil. A cat will start eating your face as soon as it realises your not getting up to feed it."
My cat can open pouches of food, so that won't be an issue |

Swinging partner of 'AV': I've had many cats and dogs, currently just the one dog, a rescue springer |
