Or the "boy racer" favourites.
Vauxhall Nova (everybody knew somebody who had one!)
And it's spiritual successor, Citroen Saxo (preferably in that yellow colour it was offered in) |

lancia integrale - crazy car once you tuned it up
Toyota starlet glanza - again, things got a bit mad once you tuned that little 1.3 engine, capable of 300bhp on the standard internals.
Civic type R (B16) - serious power output from a 1.6 NA engine
Golf R - does very well at going very fast in a straight line
All fantastic cars but personally I think the new civic type R (FK8) is the current king of the hot hatch.
That car is an engineering masterpiece. In terms or track capabilities it’s doninated cars it shouldn’t be able to. |

"Toyota corolla gt coupe, front engine rear wheel drive and a 1600 twincam that sings sweeter than Cathryn Jenkins. I'm getting hard just thinking about it."

"Hottest looks or hottest performance ?
Billiard table flat race track or real world greasy pot holed roads ?
"
Track my arse; greasy road / rally super stage
Lancia Delta destroyed the field in the good old (deadly) days of group B rally Peugeot and Audi thought they were top dogs then this monster tore them apart... and then group B got banned. Killing drivers was one thing, but spectators too...
But there was just something magical about Renaults Clio Williams on the road, those gold wheels.
The RS Twingo mk 2 was a bit wild |

"Metro 6R4..... banded from racing because it was just and 500 brake horse power engine and a go kart chassis...
Mistress Amelia"
I was just about to say I'm amazed no-one has mentioned this yet... |

"Peugeot 205 Rallye with its wide steel wheels and stripes on the radiator "
I’d say that was a cool looking car. Along with the Ops Clío. A big shout out from myself for the Fiesta XR2i. |

Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI? Used to have a Renault clio sport 182 which was pretty bonkers!
Met a couple from Bournemouth a number of years ago who had an old Renault 5 Turbo... still recovering, or maybe that was just his driving |

"Nope used to have Peugeot 205 gti that was quicker than the fords, even so I still would say that Alfa Romeo was awesome"
I’m torn between how to say what’s best. Speed and handling. Or looks? Coz the xr2 was heavy and took corners like a gallion ship.
