I believe it’s an official Guiness Record although as to the preservation of and subsequent remaining physical proof (of the actual stool in question), I have no idea sadly (certainly, it would have been too big to flush down the toilet at any rate!) 
The story goes that the record breaking turd came about as a by product of a specialised, experimental, high fibre diet that was pioneered at a Texas University.

I think so; This um...proud poop record was set in 1995 and is unlikely to ever be beaten, not least of all as 26 feet is about the exact length of the human intestines so there’ll be no more room to store any extra faecal matter |

Talking of which though, I’ve just seen pics of the actual record being set.
I can only describe it as a person who looks to be in a sports hall, squatting, gradually shuffling forwards down a measuring lane.....leaving a long, unbroken, dark coloured, sausage like trail behind them.... |
