For those of you who don’t know who Louis C.K. is, he’s one of the biggest stand up comedians in America, as well as an actor, writer and filmmaker. His material has always been risqué and close to the knuckle.
9 months ago 5 women alleged that he had masturbated or tried to masturbate in front of them on separate occasions in hotel rooms. He later admitted to it and apologised.
The allegations came out with the #me too movement. Last week he did a short stand up set trying out new material.
Do you think 9 months is a fair amount of time to make a comeback or do you think he has no right to make comeback and his career should be finished, after these sexual allegations ?
Also are there different levels of sexual misconduct and is it fair he’s been compared to those that have committed more serious allegations from the # me too movement ? |

Far too quick to be coming back. Not a fair amount of time whatsoever, he can’t just go into hiding for a few months then reappear again like nothing happened.
Yes, it’s fair that he is being ‘compared’ to the ‘more serious allegations’. |

As far as I recall, the allegations were that Louis asked if it would be ok for him to masturbate while being watched. When consent was given, he went ahead and jerked off, when consent was denied,he backed off.
As sexual predators go,he certainly doesn't seem to be the worst.
Anyone who is familiar with Louis CKs comedy will not be surprised to learn that he likes to jack off,a lot, whenever the opportunity arises.
It can't be denied that he is extremely popular so,who is being punished if he is denied the opportunity to work? Him or his fans. |
