Genius and i admire his confidence to say what he thinks and to hell with what other peole think. I may not agree with everything he says (love his music though!) but it would boring if there weren’t people like him in this world to shake things up a bit! I wonder what his star sign is? (You don’t hear much about astrolgy nowadays do you!!) - anyone remember the cuddly Russel Grant?! |

"Why would he be a genius?
Just a grumpy musician isn't he, or have I missed something that he's done?
Lyrical genius to start with..."
Shouldn't it Morrisey MBE or something then?
What else then (as in 'to start with') |

" ... Lyrical genius ... "
This.
e.g. It’s Not Your Birthday Anymore. A song simply beautiful and at the same time, absolutely heartwrenching! Makes me cry, the swine.
I can listen to him over and over, but I don’t think I’d enjoy his company. |

Me too plus he would hate me for being a meat eater. I could still listen to him all night. |

Lyrical genius to start with...
Definitely.
But now worryingly like your crazy uncle."
At least he’s a passionate man, I would take that over someone who is the opposite any day. |

He's not a musician is he? "
Correct. He’s a singer, songwriter and author. |

A bit meh and a bit great at times. So like others have said already, both! A select few of his solo and Smiths stuff I find absolutely blindingly brilliant to be fair. |

Correct. He’s a singer, songwriter and author. "
Have I missed something that he's done?
Or are way saying 'Genius' for his songwriting?
As asked above he's not an MBE or something is he?
I don't know that much about him, hence the questions I ask and wrongly saying he was a musician. |

"A great songwriter but can be a bit of an arrogant knob at times - bit like Weller used to be really and I love Weller "
I love Weller...would leave my Mr for him, but have met him once and he was a miserable twunt! Didn’t put me off though!

"I've met Jonny marr he was sound .I think he was the genius of the band."
That’s a common misconception ... he was utterly brilliant but so was/is Morrisey |

"Genius or bit of a liability?
Neither
Shame on you tame, thought we had each other’s back music wise "
Probably the greatest lyricist of a generation, but does that qualify as a genius ? |

The Never Played Symphonies is my personal favourite song of his because it resonates on a deep level. A lost love, that i have never been able to forget. The ‘one that got away’ and the reason it is so painful is because i was the idiot who walked away..... |
