Wish me luck.
2 years ago I got made redundant. Took a job paying £12,000 a year less but managed. My confidence took a massive nose dive and I always felt that my current role isn’t fulfilling.
So I applied for a new position. Had my 1st interview a week ago and been asked back again today.
I have got to give a presentation.
Wish me luck . |

Have a great second interview, wear sexy and matching underwear under conservative but smart clothing. If you feel great you will come across as confident and happy.

I don't think we are allowed to advertise or promote on this site but a well known female presenter on BBCs Today programme has just published a book with her advice to women on how to progress in a career ,and life generally. Available in a national bookstore chain. Good luck with your interview |

"Good luck to you. Big breath, and walk in with your head held high and full of confidence and smile "
2 bosses told me they know within the first 5 seconds of seeing someone they are going to interview if they were getting the job or not. Walk confident...big smile and a good handshake
Good luck x |

When I got my current job, I left the interview and they left just long enough for me to drive home, and I got the call offering the job within a minute of walking through the door so this is most probably true |

Is there more than one position?
Although making you wait until Monday or Tuesday is just plain evil! Keeping my fingers crossed for you! |

Yes. 3 positions. One more a senior level.
I hate waiting |

Congratulations!
I’ve been made redundant before and it does dent your self confidence and your own perception of your own self worth.
I’m now earning £20k a year less than I was but I’m doing something that I love rather than something that was stressful, unfulfilling but paid a fat salary. Its always good to be back though! |

Unfortunately some people get caught In the rat race and can't get out.
There is no way I could change to doing something I love and take a 20k pay cut..not at the minute..got too many commitments |

I hear you!
It’s not by choice and it’s been tough financially and many economies have had to be made. We downsized, brought a smaller car and cut back on luxuries. I do miss being able to do what I want when I want to do it but in the main I’m much happier and in a good place right now. |

The Jean jacket was in the wash.
But thanks I’m so pleased.
I did exactly shed a tear when I saw the offer.

It’s amazing how you learn to adapt to a reduction in income. I lost £12k a year and when you on your own trying to pay bills it’s hard. You have to watch every penny but I’m pleased this position bridges the gap in my lose of income.

Very much so. If this situation taught me anything it’s that you don’t need money to be happy. Yes we all have financial commitments and as long as you can still meet them then you begin to realise that money isn’t everything and that I probably spent far too much on frippery before! |

Wear a smile! You can do it, good luck!
Make your presentation enjoyable, memorable and have a little fact that they did't know. Showing research and pulling out hidden facts is sure to impress.
I did a two page presentation for one interview. The result was a "Ooh, that's better than what our managers do!" and a 5 year stint there.
Don't forget to interview them as well! |
