I never work out the numbers, though drivibg short distances around my home city, extremely low. Touring holiday Yorkshire to top of Scotland, really good, like an extra 150miles in a full tank.

Between 42 and 51 mpg, very much depending on the weather. It's diesel Seat Leon with the eco engine, and doing a high proportion of motorway driving. Adverse winds, heavy rain and cold weather decrease the mpg.

It depends on my driving standards but I expect 56 mpg. Good drives it's 60 to 70.

Never worked out my own. Can’t be bothered but also probably because it would shock me haha.

Surprised to find out my mate’s C6 Corvette does 33 on a motorway run.

It’s how you drive that makes the biggest difference really.

Best I've managed in my 14 year old VW Bora 1.9tdi was 61.5 mpg, taking it steady with no passengers & not using the air con on a long motorway journey, usually 50-55mpg is more typical.

We've just upgraded our car, our old one got around 32mpg, and our new one gets around 43mpg if driven frugally. I'm amazed that some people are getting such high mpg figures in real life. Technology these days huh?!

More like gallons to the mile if you're using it properly

Upper 40s/50 if I'm lucky, not bad for a 10yo S60. Not hanging about either.....

Around town, about 36mpg and on motorways it could go up as high as 58/60mpg

It helps that I don’t drive like I stole my car

Average 50-60 depending on traffic Vs motorway. I drive for work and I do a lot of long journeys visiting family so fuel economy is pretty important.

Mine says 14mpg but, I’m a bit thick as shit to figure out how much I can actually manage.

Mine is a 3 litre tdi and a 4x4. Don’t think I’d be getting much out of it in general anyway.

Not a clue!

I leave all that shit to hubby. He’s been keeping spreadsheets for our cars since we’ve had them. Tracks costs of everything and also mpg on it too. His 52 plate Skoda Octavia estate is being replaced with a 13 plate superb estate in Wednesday. He’s figured out that in the 4.5 years of owning the old car it’s cost us 9 grand, including the cost of buying the car, maintenance, insurance, tax and fuel.

He’s already started a spreadsheet for his new car and we’ve not even collected it yet

My main car is a van... I usually get about 45 but a bit more if it's empty.

What do you drive a Unimog or Tank?

The worst i ever witnessed was 4.6 mpg on a track day with a McLaren Mercedes SLR.

I currently drive a Smart ForTwo CDI and i get anything between 60-70 mpg. Fricking love it

My type R civic would do about 31mpg on motorway runs and around 15mpg when taken through the Revs allowing vtec to engage.

My Honda CRV can achieve almost 50mpg on motorway runs and about 35mpg day to day driving

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

About 40 around town and about 65 on the motorway. 99 with the clutch engaged.

The only thing I don't like about the stop/start thing is that it switches off the air con.
