0.7p worth of tea bag and the same in boiling water please. Add 3p worth of milk and 2 mins of your time at less than £9 per hour 0.2p worth of washing up and the same for rent/rates too. If this costs me more than 80p then it's a rip off so I don't go into any of the big name places. I've had some great mugs of tea for 50p or so from catering vans though. There's one in a DIY store car park in Bridgewater that gives you a china mug of tea for 50p as long as you give it back after. Love that place!! |

There and to the left a bit |
I prefer Costa purely because it's British and pays it's taxes and has a loyalty scheme that actually rewards you rather than operating one that wants to hive off your money to earn interest on for a free coffee every 15 visits (as Starbucks one does) - but will use both |

Slough Windsor ish |
Costa
We boycott Starbucks since the Windsor branch decided that soldiers could not sit in if they were in their greens. Given that there are two large barracks in town they have lost most local trade. Still, the tourists keep them busy. |

Really ? How odd. I gleefully walk into Starbs now just to use their toilet and walk out again! |

Can you give me a link supporting that assertion? |

At the moment Costa because if the independents open before I start work. However, I'm hoping a new Nero across the road will focus people's minds on making drinks properly. |

McDonald's.....I just want a strong white coffee.
When I ask for that in Starbucks or Costa they look at me like I'm the devil, because I didn't order a double hazelnut steamed iced frappachino with organic marshmallow dust |

If you are in the north and you have one yet the answer to the question is Tim horton’s
Canada’s finest
Timmy’s “coffee and donuts” combo maybe one of the truely best things on the planet! |

If you were lumbered with the choice of only those two then Costa are the lesser of two evils.
Starbucks is surely one of the least ethical companies going? |

"starbucks coffee is nowhere near as bitter as Costa coffee but both are not as nice as café Nero"
Agreed.
Oh and cafe Nero hot chocolate!
In all seriousness, I'm not adventurous with coffee, I'm just a americano or filter coffee guy.
I have a rank system:
I always prefer independents, usually better service and quality.
Cafe Nero is my go to for convenience.
Costa is the next.
Starbucks is if I'm desperate - the only thing they have over the previous two is they do matcha lattes. |
