Movies Ruined By Their Ratings

Ever saw a movie that you hoped would be at a certain rating like 15 or 18 only to be disappointed that it is a 12A?

The movie The Meg looked like it was gonna be at least a 15 but when I found that it was a 12A, I was disappointed. When you think of a killer shark movie, you think of a shark eating people in gruesome ways. Apparently, gorier death scenes were filmed but the studios wanted it to be PG-13/12A so the scenes were cut.

Removing much of the movie's content (language, sex, violence) just to get a lower rating and sell more tickets ruins the movie's potential to be a really good movie.

Not many films are rated higher than a 12 A nowadays. Which does spoil the good horror movies

Indeed. What was a mistake was rating Woman in Black 12A and I don't think anything was edited out. I think it was rated 12A just because Daniel Radcliffe was in it and kids love seeing Harry Potter.

I personally love horror movies but the majority of them are 15s now and not scary. Add to that a cinema full of prepubescents all snogging it doesn’t make for a good night lol

Sevenoaks

Terminator 3 was a perfect example of this. The first one was an 18, the second was a 15 then number 3 was just a 12!

Plus those 15 rated horror movies are mostly filled with cheap jumpscares and have the same boring plots.
