It's a FOOTBALL thread!

Are you happy with your clubs business?

Who would you like today at the last minute?

This thread is not applicable to Spurs fans (currently)

It's ridiculous how over priced UK players are. Some of these prices are just stupid

Chelsea spend £72M or E on a keeper.

Probably because there's has thrown his toys, stamped his feet and refused to come back from the World Cup. Doing his best to get a move to Madrid.

Disgusting behaviour

I hope not aswell. Man Utd have enough decent CB's and Leicester don't need the money.

I don't think it will happen as Colin is putting all his efforts into midfielders. Breathe easy Owls fans.

See you next year I think.

Look what we have brought in compared to Wolves and Fulham. Even so it's more than Spurs.

At least our squads have settled.

There is that for fans who have seen their beloved clubs have a quiet summer

Sell Pogba. His agent is a trouble maker.

Arsenal fan happy overall with our business.

Looking forward to seeing Torreira and Guendozi in midfield.

The fairytale ending would be Dembele coming in on loan but it’s Arsenal so am not expecting it.

Yeah I wish Lucas and Jack well.

Ramsey one year left so probably worth that. He’s not up there commercially value wise. Hoping he signs. Feel the announcement will come today. It’s classic Arsenal to announce a contract on deadline day to soften the day.

He wants out though.

I'd never have a player at my club who didn't want to be there.

It's a clash of ego's with him and Jose I think.

There and to the left a bit

As a Spurs fan I'm actually more worried about players going out than those coming in- whilst it would be good to have a couple of signings to freshen things up and improve the team - they'd need to be players capable of doing that - otherwise I actually think we have a core squad who have now been together two or three years and have improved in that time and think it's only a matter of time before things go to the next level.

We could do with a striker to back Kane up (any we have just haven't done that) but with the likes of Son, Alli and Eriksen we have the firepower there in some respects.

Losing Alderweireld is actually my biggest concern - there's obviously something gone on behind the scenes but he's a quality player and I'd like to see him still there come 5pm - unless we sell him to Utd and get Maguire in to replace him of course

As above: Spurs won't need to gel or settle in, their ready to go and have been for months. There's a lot to be said for that.

Wouldn't want to play you guys first couple of weeks.

If we've got Kanye starting then I'm worried!!

But yep Kane has yet to score in the Premier League in August but he more than makes up for it September to May!!

Not so sure we'll be fast out of the blocks with 9 players who only returned to training this week after going so far in the World Cup

I bet the day after the play off loss you couldn't expect to to be this optimistic. It looked all doom and gloom but a tally it's far from it.

Saved a fortune getting Terry out.

I think Villa will hold firm on Grelish and while I don't like him I think credit where he's due he's a fantastic player and rather than be a sulky basted he will give everything to get Villa promoted.

Villa in top 6 at Christmas and I think he will remain then as well.

Considering where we were four weeks ago, I'm over the moon at where we are now. I was worried that I might actually lose my club at one stage.

Keeping Grealish is really big for us. We still need a left back and another winger.

I've seen Drinkwater quoted at £35M.

That's an example of UK players being over priced

Yeah having someone like Jorge Mendes helping in negotiations does help sometimes.

It's something that can be worrying, but to be honest I feel it'll work. It's been a mix of getting players that are very experienced even internationally although they've never played in the Premier league (Rui Patrício and João Moutinho) and then young players but that already have been in England for a while (Traore).

They've done things with a decent pace and had a good enough time during preseason to get synergy among them. It'll still need work of course but I'm confident.

Jack Grealish is a spark for us. He’s very talented and will definitely be an England player soon. We have really got out of jail with the new owners. Being Properly structured and financially secure will make a huge difference. I genuinely thought we were going into administration 3 weeks ago.

We had Mirror “journalists” arguing with Jacks brother last night on twitter over things he allegedly said or, as was the case, didn’t, in fact, say. Crazy how this stupid window causes such mayhem.

We still have the loan window till the end of the month, plus the European leagues window is still open so there could be further departures to come.

Agreed.

My worry for Chelsea is up front.

Giroud isn't exactly prolific up front.

Abraham isn't really good enough to play on his own up front.

We could really do with two world class strikers. It's our biggest week weakness IMHO.

I wouldn't mind Danny Welbeck on loan.

True Fact (possibly). His Dad called Stan is South African and is a bomb disposal expert.

Not me. I'm just happy to be there and this time with splits in the club. I'll take whatever is the outcome this year providing financial stability is there. Which to me seems nailed on.

Our best signing is still Warnock.

In a town Fab forgot

"Couldn't care less about football, players in the premiership act like prima donnas, they are not men the way they fall about in absolute agony when they are hardly touched is sad, sooner watch rugby where at least the players act like real men, can't understand the adulation fans give the players in their team."

I've seen this type of comment before.

Rugby and football are very different sports. The people who play are built very differently to cope with their respective games.

It's like comparing formula 1 with stock car racing and shows a complete failure to understand the requirements of each game.

Having said that, players like Neymar do precious little to dispel this belief.....

Cheating twat.

I've seen rugby teams out on the town after a game acting like "real men".

Arrogant entitled pricks. All of the local rugby clubs were barred from every pub in my home town due to their awful behaviour.

Sevenoaks

Man United sign Fred and a teenager. Not sure that's gonna be enough to keep up with Man City. Plus Jose needs to cut the whingeing and criticising his own players publicly.
