50 Shades - to watch or not?

So 50 Shades Freed is on Amazon for £1.99 and I feel a cinema evening coming on while I nurse a bug. What do you reckon? Watch or not?

And if not, other recommendations for sick bed viewing?

I saw the first one. It had nice wallpaper and lamps.

Somewhere In The Ether…

You owe it to yourself to complete what surely must be the greatest cinematic trilogy ever filmed.

.....Yes

I got halfway through the first one and gave up. Terrible!

Watch The Greatest Showman instead. It'll cheer you up.

Lewisham

I remember a film critic celebrating the 3rd film because it was the last one.

Might be better with John Wick instead

I have refused to read the books after my sister in law said "they are really good...badly written..but really good" eerrmmm NO!!! That makes no sense...and the books are always better than the films, right? So not been that interested in watching the films either. Only problem now is, I kind of want to watch them to see if they are as bloody awful as I expect

I do. It was the bargain price that was tempting me to waste two hours of my life.

Awful books, terribly written, not actual BDSM just abuse, lead to awful films. Wouldn't watch it even if it was free

Have you read the books? Keep hearing from fiends that the BDSM in it is awful, is that just the films or books also?

Read all 3...films don't do the books justice. The BDSM is quite tame to be fair

We like to watch things and make our own mind up.

There’s worse films about.

We both enjoyed the books, the films... not so much.

Dunboyne & Dublin

50 Shades of shite basically.

If you want a bargain movie, it's kinda old now but to put the same cast, director and writer together today would cost an absolute mint, plus involve a little reanimating the dead, True Romance is absolutely brilliant!

London

Watched all three to see what the fuss was about. If you enjoy awfully written, badly acted, glossy dross that has zero relation to BDSM or realism, go for it.

I'd recommend Preaching to the Perverted, Secretary, After Fall Winter, Venus in Fur, The Duke of Burgundy, Belle du Jour, Exit to Eden, Maitresse and documentary Fetishes for a better viewing experience.

I’ve seen about half of those but will add the others to my ‘to watch’ list for when I’m feeling more in the mood. Thanks!
