I believe that we are approaching this in an entirely unscientific manner.....

We need to firstly look at the myriad of variables at play in the said scenario before making any rash, unfounded and indeed, groundless conclusions.

For instance, what type of wood is being used in this instance? Is it Oak? Pine? Beech? All have varying degrees of hardness which would directly affect the speed at which the Woodchuck could conceivably cut trough it.
