Having just spent the weekend looking at traction engines and tractors (and really enjoying it!) I wondered what other weird and wonderful hobbies we all have?

"You see I would have called your other hobby crap but this one takes the biscuit
All my hobbies resolve around crafts and baking/cake making "
Might have to have a taste test! |

"I love cycling ( without the lycra and push the bike up steep hills )
I did 30 miles today in flip flops and a pannier rack bag "
Now that really adds to the a Mary Poppins imagery, did you have a magic carpet-bag on the panniers? |

Nice, I do like cycling but as I commute to work on it by the time the weekend is here my love of the bike is severely diminished! |

Skateboarding, done it for 25 years now, fair few injuries along the way, but great times had. Toured around the world got shit loads of free stuff and just generally had fun. Ironic thing was though the girls loved it and we were never short of a date (if you know what I mean) but on here I don't get nowhere near as much...haha |

Yep completely different kettle of fish that. We skated at a demo with Matt Hoffman, that guys nuts he had nigh on broken his leg, but he made a makeshift splint and still carried on riding so he did not disappoint people that had come to see him... |

My main hobby for 30 years would probably appall many people on here so I won’t share but my hobby got more attention and coverage in any given week than everybody on this combined has or ever will have.
It does tickle me when some people get paranoid about word getting out that somebody is shagging someone else.
Nobody cares |

I guess if any of my hobbies is remotely cool it's triathlon.
As for geeky stuff, I play the flute and violin - not that much anymore but still like to scare the neighbours every now and then. L. |

Looking up the origin of popular rhymes/phrases and then I wrote them all down in a book.
I also like to highlight things in my bible that uplift me and then open it at random pages when I’m feeling low. Like a bible fortune Cookie. Lol |

I’ve started trading in Lego
I buy bulk lots from Facebook and recycle centres or car boots
Work out what I need
Get loads together and then sell it £10-15 a kilo
Plus figures are stupid money
Sold some Harry Potter mini figures for £150 the other week |

Apart from sporting hobbies, which also class as work....
Baking & making, I've been told I make rather good cakes & my gin gets rave reviews.
I like old things too, I love walking round places, looking at architecture, finding out the history of places.
Stargazing, my Dad taught me all the constellations when I was a kid, I'm often sat on the Downs on a clear night with my telescope...
I also quickly learnt which car parks where the local dogging spots too... I avoid those now! |

Probably mine is model railways. But to me its art, social commentary, story telling, creating an active choreographed performance, electronic engineering, micro engineering and an expression of the world as I see it. I love creating the world in miniature and overcoming the numerous creative and engineering challenges. And a perfect hobby for a imaginative, creatuve, electronics geek. I am about 50/50 left and right brain. Another notable mention is my English Civil war reenacting. Although I am a bit of a history geek that's more about mates, beer and having a scrap.

I'll agree with this.My interest since I was a child has generated parallel interests in history, art, sociology, geography, architecture and industrial engineering. It annoys me when people sneer at 'toy trains', it's so much more than that |
