I rather suspect that what actually transpired was this: One hot prehistoric day, an asteroid carrying strange cosmic radiation struck the earth. Said weird and unspecified cosmic rays subsequently caused instantaneous, bizarre mutations in the planets organisms, one being the startling appearance of a chicken/egg hybrid (think a hard shell with legs poking out the bottom). Yes.....that sounds feasible me thinks  |
