Hi

Can anyone tell me if they have waxed their last bits using wax strips and if so, which ones?

Someone at work said you should never do it yourself but I thought I'd get a second (or several!!) opinion(s)

Thanks x

Stafford ish

Its not the easiest thing to do.... you gotta be very supple and very fast with the stripping it off. Its hard to keep the skin taut and rip it off at the same time. Good Luck

Well every time I've done it I've gone over the same area a few times and ended up with red raw skin which then started to peel days later. Probably best to see a professional but the thought of saving money always wins

The things some women do in the name of vanity.

Like every part with waxing, epilating, tweezing - the first few times for hair removal can be bloody painful. Later the hairs get finer and looser, easier to pull out.

I've not personally used waxing on my lady bits, mainly razor, but did got through a period of tweezing. Remove a couple of hundred hairs a day until gradually all gone, bit painful on the first pass, less so on second and subsequent after regrowth.

Gave it up and went back to razor after a year or so, but i reckon it has left me with a lasting reduction in the thickness of folliage...

Limbo

I always got into a terrible mess trying to wax myself but after the initial 'ouch' found epilating surprisingly effective - though I was too scared to use those whirring blades on the edge of my outer lips so finished off there with a razor. However it was very time consuming and I'm also prone to ingrown hairs so apart from tidying round the edges I've more or less given up tackling it now and embracing the natural look instead

I’m a Professional waxer and I still won’t wax my own lady garden!!!

Impossible to get the stretch and the pull in the right place to reduce the risk of bruising or skin lift!!

Used veet wax strips on the bit between tummy amd really delicate area. But I wouldn't use them any further down.In the crease at the top of the thigh,I imagine they would be almost impossible to use with accuracy, they'd just be messy and too close to labia...it doesn't bear thinking about (especially with piercing in that area).

Far better,I think, to go to a salon that uses stripless hot wax. This seems to be much gentler on delicate skin than wax strips and definitely preferable to DIY wax strips that seem to be quite hard wax.

As above OP...it's safer and much quicker to just have it done at a salon. I'm a qualified waxer and I have done my own but it's a total ball-ache and not worth the effort.

Tube of Nair from any pound shop does the trick for us both, when we can be bothered.

They do a sensitive skin version, but you still have to be very careful.

What salon do you use? I've been going to Hush Beauty on Greek Street for ages now, they do a really good job on my back, and lovely people

I tried it once just before the ex came round.... Thought he was going to have to take me to A&E for 3rd degree burns! Luckily it went off during the course of the evening

Somewhere nearby

I once Veet’d my ex’s balls. He cried. A lot. Sobbed like a baby. If I knew then what I knew by the time we split up, I wouldn’t have washed it off. He couldn’t wear jeans for weeks.

For god sake pay someone.

I tried waxing my own legs once...

I ended up with wax stuck to my legs and my crying in a heap on the bathroom floor...

My mum came to help and got the giggles..

Now if I have a wax of any sort I pay someone. I don’t know them and they’ve seen it all before

Oh and they won’t say anything; they’re being paid.

Preference is all well and good but to imply that natural hair is unhygienic is not nice now is it?

I pay for waxing. Honestly, it's too tricky to do DIY and flipping hurts when you fuck up.

Haha doesn’t seem to bother either of us.

Where there’s no sense there's no feeling though.

Gorey

Bought an epilator recently and its really good. Used tweezers on the refusers and ended up silky smooth. That was 3 weeks ago having to repeat now but much less painful second time around. Hairs are tiny second time round so dont show as much x

Was he a light weight?

Not the slightest pain ever felt from doing it.
