.. to be called beautiful, gorgeous, pretty,cute, stunning or something else when someone is paying you a compliment about your looks. I made the mistake of saying a woman looked pretty once, she didn’t like it, said that’s more to describe a flower or a nice vase.
Stunning is off the cards too, apparently that’s a bit to much and too much to live up to! |

‘Pretty’ is not just an adjective to describe inanimate objects. It’s a perfectly legitimate word to describe a woman. Men can’t be expected to mind read as to what different women do and don’t like.

I hate the word stunning on here tbh, it is full of bullshit, I don't mind when I send a face pic they say I love your eye (it's all make up anyway) but it is at least a little more honest |

I'm not any of those things - I'm not fishing, I just know it to be nonsense so I'd rather none of them. I guess if someone had to say something it would be great if it was like 'you have great boobs' because I know I do. |

It's impossible on here to gauge sincerity: emails are cold and lack the tone or visual clues you need to read it properly.
If someone paid me a compliment in real life, and meant it, I don't think I'd mind what vocabulary was used. |

I take it all with a huge pinch of salt..

As has been said. Everyone is different. I have never been one to like recieving compliments they make me uncomfortable but I do like being called by pet names. It feels like a compliment to me but in a way I can enjoy and not squirm at. I notice loads of women on here say they hate being called pet names.
I suppose it could mean the person has just forgotten your name or something lol, or they can't be bothered to learn it to begin with. |

anything that is sincere. here or in real life. if I send a face pic and get told that I am stunning I know he is lying. if I get told that someone would like to pull my knickers off I believe it

There's no right answer of course, it's a matter of personal taste.
It's often btter to compliment something a person has choice over like their style and taste rather than something they have no control over like how their facial features are arranged.

Anyone else saying I'm cute can seem condescending and if they said beautiful I think they were taking the piss.
On here I just imagine how many other ladies they've said the same thing to. |
