Somewhere In The Ether…

My season of misery has begun in earnest; Itchy eyes, runny nose and sneezing like there’s no tomorrow.

Fellow sufferers - come forth in commiseration.

(Also, what do you take to combat it?)

It’s funny you should mention this; I used to go on holiday to Brixham in Devon to visit a relative there when I was a kid during the Summer holidays from School.

It was all beautiful coastline there and my hay fever was indeed, noticeably abated during my stay. Sea air does veritably seem to hold medicinal qualities

I also wear dark glasses when the sun is bright I find this can help with the sneezing and also helps prevent the inevitable urge to rub my eyes which is fatal. As I work outside in the countryside I can’t avoid the pollen and dust but have found these measure deaf help me but as I’m sure you’ve found what works for one person won’t necessarily work for you. It’s actually the moisture in the sea air damps the pollen down slightly hence it always feels better by the sea

I must admit that thankfully, my symptoms have become more tolerable with age; when I was a child however, I distinctly remember my eyes used to puff up so much that I couldn’t see out of them (I looked much like Rocky after 12 rounds lol)

Not one who suffers from

But did help a friend once overcome a life time of problems every year.

I will try explain quickly, might help some of you.

Im not saying will work for everyone nor saying im anything other than a guy offering first hand advise.

Right firstly you need to collect little bags of various grains of pollen off a range of flowers, if you have it bad, ask a friend to take a sharp knife and knocking/scraping collect an tiny sample of pollen, do this for least 5 different plants, the grains are tiny.

Next buy about 240g of multifloral bee pollen (must be multfloral, from lots different plants, try organic bee pollen from spain)

So what you do it take a sheets of glass, tip out some pollen from one bag, use magnifying glass and pin/needle and seperate one grain.

Stick that one grain on a clean plaster.

Tape that plaster to back of your hand at night before bed.

When you wake change the pollen grain for another type and repeat all day.

Do this with one grain alternating between grains for 1 week.

2nd week. Take one grain of bee pollen every morning and repeat procedure on back of hand. This time use two grains.

Do this for one week daily

3rd week if everything all good, start taking two grains of bee pollen and five or six grains of flower pollen on back of hand.

And so on

What this does is take body right back and overcomes the very basic levels.

By introducing pollen in such tiny amount over period of time, the body is able to adjust.

You will also loose weight or gain it depends upon how your body should be, but this will only happen after long term use of bee pollen, as you will no longer havd issues.

Bee pollen contains bee spit, in the bee spit, it makes human metabolism work as should, so body naturally adjusts to natural body weight for your body.

Bee pollen does.wonderful things, but all you people, please start one grain at a time.

Hope this helps

If anyone needs advise feel free to ask will try help if can

A great post and very informative Thank you.

I’ve read a little previously on the homeopathic benefits of injesting locally sourced honey but never the method you described.

It’s a little like cutting out the middle man (or insect in this case) in essence.

Actually, it makes perfect sense therefore and sounds very much worth a try

My only problem with nasal sprays is that I’m often too blocked up/streaming to ‘inhale’ them as it were.

In fact I have resorted to laying my head back and literally squirting the things into my nostrils on occasion

I was terrible with it as a kid and was hospitalised on several occasions. I used to get a Kenilog injection once a year which worked wonders but they stopped giving it because it’s a steroid. I’m not as bad these days so I can manage with over the counter stuff. I’ve heard that if you source local honey and have a spoonful everyday for thexweeks leading up to the season it helps build up a resistance to your local pollen.

Read my post above about bee pollen.

Unless the local honey you refer to is unpasteurized, unfiltered, basically raw

It will do no good for your purpose.

It would be better to use bed pollen as described above

Hope that helps

You must have suffered extremely to necessitate hospitalisation- I’m very sorry to hear that. I’m pleased though that like myself, your symptoms are more tolerable today.

Based upon the lessening of my symptoms over the years, I calculate that by the time I’m about ninety, I may be cured completely......well, provided I’m still around of course

As a kid from around 6 I had it chronic so much that by the time I turned 16 it would turn into chronic asthma on a evening

I got skin tests then got injected with the pollen that caused the allergy...I thought it had been stopped now but I just read this article on asthma dot other dot UK.

Immunotherapy involves giving you a little of whatever you're allergic to (the allergen) by injection or with tablets, and gradually increasing amounts over a number of years. Over time, this means you won't react so much to the allergen.

Immunotherapy is usually only considered for people with severe hay fever and asthma. Ask your GP if this treatment might be suitable for you. If it is, you'll be referred to a specialist.

No it is hardly likely your GP will refer you with just the hayfever element but if your suffering with asthma too..it's well worth mentioning it to him....oh and it cured my hayfever

Please do not rush this.

Take time with it. Start small amount, even if take a knife and cut a tiny bee pollen grain in half and start with half a grain (in extreme cases) the secret to all this is letting body adjust over time.

Hope this helps

The most usual culprits causing hay fever are tree and grass pollens, which tend to be spread via air, as opposed to flower pollens which insects spread. Bees make honey from flower pollen, not tree or grass pollens. So there is no basis for the theory that local honey will help your allergies.

"Right have worded this better..so maybe understand...following on from post...

Flower pollen (you have collected off flowers) what you do it take a sheets of glass, tip out some pollen from one bag, use magnifying glass and pin/needle and seperate one grain.

Stick that one grain of flower pollen, on a clean plaster.

Tape that plaster to back of your hand at night before bed.

When you wake change the pollen grain for another type of flower pollen and repeat all day.

Do this with one grain alternating between grains for 1 week.

2nd week.

Eat one grain of bee pollen every morning and repeat procedure above with flower pollen on back of hand. This time use two grains of flower pollen.

Do this for one week daily

3rd week if everything all good, start eating two grains of bee pollen and five or six grains of flower pollen on back of hand.

And so on

What this does is take body right back and overcomes the very basic levels.

By introducing pollen in such tiny amount over period of time, the body is able to adjust.

You will also loose weight or gain it depends upon how your body should be, but this will only happen after long term use of bee pollen, as you will no longer have issues.

Bee pollen contains bee spit, in the bee spit, it makes human metabolism work as should, so body naturally adjusts to natural body weight for your body.

When you say and do on, how many weeks do you continue this for and in weeks 4,5,6 say, how many grains of pollen do you put under the plaster.

Yes, and its called bee pollen because it is flower pollen which has been processed by the bees and mixed with bee saliva, hence the name.

"The most usual culprits causing hay fever are tree and grass pollens, which tend to be spread via air, as opposed to flower pollens which insects spread. Bees make honey from flower pollen, not tree or grass pollens. So there is no basis for the theory that local honey will help your allergies.

"

Sorry but bees also make useless tree pollen as so the wild bees make grass pollen.

Sorry but all the pollen out of eastern Europe is pine pollen, useless for this purpose.

It isn't anything to do with grass or trees so sorry but your incorrect.

And only raw, unpasteurized, unprocessed honey is good enough and very little of that about, and mostly uk local stuff so contaminated, best avoid

Just build slowly bro

Increasing slowly

See how body reacts

If u get reactions with few grains, reducing grains back one stage and do for few more weeks, till no issues at that level and increase.

Your aiming to increase bee pollen to as much as can

Every person is different and some may only take few weeks, others a couple of months.

Its basic allergy control for body, build small and slowly, body can overcome most problems with allergies.
